Gruesome murders with art, a retired old cop's investigation for his daughter's killing, a suspenseful couple, a reporter boy ( or girl ?) and most confused plot with an disappointed dull end. Those are summary points of such boring move. Not watchable. You can feel cheated after seeing this movie. Only Jef is watchable. Killer is not believeble and this is most illogical point makes movie garbage.

Fmovies: Just so much of it didn't gel. Morgan's acting for one. There are some unbelievably hammy scenes. Did he not learn to summon an authentic sense memory to trigger a convincing cry?

As a whole, the movie also could have been more cinematic. The scale seems small for being set in half-a-dozen countries. And that doesn't so the adaptation justice.

A lot of this comes across as a decent episode of a procedural show. That is the overall feel. The execution could have been so much better since the source material and story appear to have some interesting elements.

This is a well acted and well directed movie. The story, while deviating from the book, is still excellent and the locations/scenes are perfect.

I'm not a fan of crime drama movies but this is one that I decided to watch and I'm glad I did, I'm only sorry that my expectations were set low because I stupidly read the reviews (here on imdb) before watching it.

It is well acted and I have to say that Jeffrey Dean Morgan excelled as far I can see. The support acting was equally as good and Joachim Król was superb as the German detective (could have been Inspector Frost's German brother!).

Synopsis: well acted, good story although deviates from the book but that doesn't detract from the overall experience.

The Postcard Killings fmovies. Actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan joined "The Walking Dead" series in 2016 and saved the series that was going downhill rapidly. He still is the best actor on that show, sadly he's underused at this time. Jeffrey also is the best thing in "The Postcard Killings".

As a cop in search of a sophisticated serial killer it sounds pretty much like "The Silence of the Lambs". But it leans closer to "Se7en" and "Resurrection" since the killings are ritually staged and some close-ups of the victims are clearly going for a shock factor.

"The Postcard Killings" is obviously not in the same league as those classics but the first hour is thrilling and exciting with an excellent performance by Jeffrey Dean Morgan. Unfortunately, the twist comes way to soon and the story kind of drags on in the last 40 minutes. Morgan's little bit of sympathy towards the killer (I won't give it away..) is misplaced since his daughter was killed and the killings itself were so gruesome and horrible.

Based on a novel, this could actually be good but to bad the story runs out of fuel way to early. And Famke Janssen should get a refund from her plastic surgeon, just saying..

I have read the novel and it's very different in a bad way. Why would they change the perfectly written plot to something else? And there are a lot of holes. And acting is bad, camera movements are bad. Disappointed really.

This film wasn't that bad, but with very little rework, could've been much better.

The main issue was the amateur screenplay put together by the novel's author, Liza Marklund, and newb writer Andrew Stern. Had a seasoned screenwriter proofread and edited the script, this film would've been impressive.

The 104 min runtime dragged on with terribly slow pacing. This film should've had the pacing sped up and/or the writing cut down to about 85-90 mins max.

Directing by Danis Tanovic was adequate, except for the annoying fade-ins to out-of-focus dizzying shots. The cinematography was decent however, and the score quite fitting. Casting and performances were on point, particularly from Morgan.

This film isn't much of a who-done-it, as we find out underwhelmingly half way through, but more of an international chase, of which also ended as underwhelming, with a silly final scene.

Still, not as bad as the critics say it is. I still enjoyed it, and it's a generous 7/10 from me.
