First off I'm impressed by the sets and acting in this from start to finish, with a few accent slips and redo-able lines but apart from that, Original, funny, sad and surprising so its really 2 thumbs up........ Siskels or Eiberts bum.

If you're a fan of Sci Fi or "Man on the run from the evil Corporation to save his family" style episodes/shows then this is for you. What will impress you more is that Daniel MacnCheese is acting well beyond his Neighbours days in OZ and should truly be called Daniel Macpherson as he isn't filled with cheese anymore.

Shame the creatures didn't seem that realistic (they reminded me of the Sketchies? in The Dark Crystal but silly how they didn't look physically possible to move the way they did) but overall very enjoyable and looking forward to the next volume as it looks like it might get a bit Bioshockish???

Fmovies: Low budget, but high quality sci-fi film. It focused on the characters and the story and it had real world building - no pun intended. The ending was really great, can't say why or I will spoil it. Enough to say that it leaves room for more volumes.

Imagine a cross between Alien 3, Screamers and Elisium and you get this film. The acting was solid, the effects really well done, yet minimal, the plot kept me going and the structure of the movie, with out of sequence episodes gave it a fresh feel.

If it weren't for some clichés, this could have been close to perfect in my book. You need to watch it.

Nowadays, people ought to check a IMDb score before watching a movie. But naturally there's lots of points of view there. So, this time I'll try to keep it short. This is a decent modern SF production. No one should be disappointed. Obviously, the production team seem to kept it up within the given budget and gave us a timely well paced, nicely trimmed script and eye-lubricated product for every SF lover out there. Of course, one shouldn't expect some "eye soul candy" nor genre-breaking original ideas (as genre in general, not only within movies, but also games or literature). But, as I noticed above about briefness, we all should be satisfied within the given parameters. A recommendation.

The Osiris Child fmovies. Thats not to say that this is a terrible film, far from it. The productions values were good and the acting was pretty good also.

The problem here is the script and pacing as well as some editing. Its clunky and Non Linear and is broken up into chapters.

The problem with this is that none of the reveals in the chapters, in the form of flashbacks tell us anything really interesting, they work more as a conduit for understanding the next scene/chapter.

The film also seems to take itself way too seriously with hammy dialogue and what i call Hollywood paint by number exposition.

There could have been real mystery here but instead they reveal this to us, the viewer within the first 5 minutes. So we have no mystery or suspense.

What about action ?? Well there is very little of that either, what little there is, was however done quite well but nothing very unique or with a wow factor.

Humour or dark humour was virtually non existent.

The whole wasteland environment was vaguely pushed upon but with not enough meat on the bones for it to really set the scene.

What your left with here is a quite well produced, quite well acted, average script with average sfx and a fairly bland story with an underwhelming ending.

It would be interesting to see the people who made this do something with a better script and story and something a bit less generic and average.

Overall you have a pretty forgettable sci fi film which is a shame as you can see the effort put into the project.

Wow, what a pleasant surprise this film was! This was the Australian production/version of Star Wars meets Mad Max meets Aliens!

The Aussies nailed this amazing low budget indie sci-fi flick, especially the tight directing and outstanding cinematography!

Director/writer/producer Shane Abbess impressed to the level of any top Hollywood director, creating a vision and executing it perfectly. Absolutely stunning cinematography, visuals, special effects, sets and locations. Editing and sound were both on point. I really felt as if I was watching some 100M+ budget big screen Hollywood production!

Let me clarify how and why I am so impressed - and how I rate a film accordingly and deserving of its merits (and not comparing it to similar big productions in the same genre): this was a low budget (approx 800k), independent film by a somewhat amateur director, writer and producer. Add to the mix some not-so-big B-list actors - only one being American and granted, the most notable in his role, Kellan Lutz. The end result was a stunning smorgasbord of visual satisfaction. I truly hope other reviewers rate this film on its merits as I did, as it's the only fair way to rate and review a film.

Yes, the writing (particularly some of the characters dialog and certain parts of the screenplay) could've use a little tweaking, and some of the characters could have been cast differently, but other than that, this film was outstanding in every other area of critique.

Had this film actually been a big budget A-type Hollywood film with any leading seasoned director/writer/producers, and backed by a big- named production company with an A-list cast, I would have rated it a disappointing 6-7/10.

But as I rate a film on it's merits as outlined above, and get as impressed and satisfied as I was after watching this film, it's a well deserved 10/10 from me!

I'm really hoping a Volume 2 comes out very soon! Great job and props to all involved in this little gem of a masterpiece!

An interesting film from start to finish, far more polished a presentation than the budget would suggest. It's a mixture of previous film styles like Star Wars, Alien and Mad Max but none the worse for that with a good well paced story line.

No one will be up for an Oscar but the standard of acting was really good with well filled out characters that you actually grew to care about or dislike!.Throw in some good special effects and photography together with a quality sound track and you've got a good film to watch. The only drawback for me was the last part of the film where it seemed an hours worth of story had been condensed into 30 minutes. It may be the film was cut to fit a 90 minute time span rather than 100 to 120 minutes but it seemed very choppy at the end.

Any one interested in Sci Fi should find this an excellent afternoons entertainment.
