Sanam Teri Kasam (2016)

At last after a very long time Bollywood has made a movie that is truly romance. No silly dancing in fields or icebergs with a field of flowers. It is a simple, sometimes fair tale like love story. Love story. The only two words needed to describe the movie- love story. On of the best of the year and surely should have been a bigger hit. The character development is good, the story line is so simple but well maintained and is a top in its genre. What a shame that a big movie star like, Shahrukh Khan or Salman khan or Amir khan were not the stars otherwise the movie would have been known for years. Also, a relatively new Pakistani Actress was cast as the main lead. Having said that both the main leads had a fantastic chemistry between each other and played their role very well. Sadly it is now one of those movies that people will only remember if some one tells them to watch it.

Fmovies: The best thing about this film is acting..now a days in Bollywood there is lacking of good actor...only looks cant give what a film need..So here in this movie both Harshvardan and Mawra done excellent acting...story is average..but story contains lots of emotion and actors did their best to portray the emotional sequence very well..And good music is the strong point.Last 20 minutes is little slow...seems like never ending..could have done more perfection to bring more genuine emotion to the last scene and melt strong hearted people also..overall a very good film..and best debut by both talented actors...worth watching..!

Mawra hocane played her role superbly. She acted perfectly in her debut film. It seems that we r watching a very senior actress. Very talented young girl. This movie is amazing. It's first time in my life that a movie leaves me teary almost for all night. Best movie of 2016. Im already a big fan of Mawra hocane but after watching this movie i've been fall in love with her. Inder acts good... And the story is heart touching. I think this is the best emotional movie i've ever saw. It Worth's time and money. Peeps go watch this. I guarantee that you will not regret your time or money. Beatest movie Lot of love for mawra from Lahore Pakistan Defence. Mawra keep it up. Very well done.

Sanam Teri Kasam fmovies. I loved the way they have shown the struggles of a woman who is as beautiful as an angel, yet no-one sees the beauty of her nature and heart; bound by family and values; grounded like. Inder (HarshVardhan Rane) is the perfect depiction of a man that every girl would dream of- Loving, Intense, Protective, Caring. Many such movies are needed in today's time to teach us what love really is. Its more about keeping the needs of the person you love before yours. People must watch this if they know the true meaning of love. This movie has struck the chords of our hearts. Excellent work by Mawra and Harsh. You both have intense chemistry on screen. Kudos to the entire team. Good Luck.

I am not a deadbeat fan of overly emotional movies. But this one was successful in keeping me nailed to the seat till the end. These young new faces are beautiful and good at acting. I wish I could cuddle with them sometime in an awesome threesome (only if they are up for it ; ). I have come to point in life where I could say that its wonderful to watch these young lovers and their drama on the screen. I wish I could see this movie alone, once and for all weep my ass out of the burden of being involved in a love triangle as in Inder, Sarasota, abhimanyu. Letting go of your girlfriend because of pressure from parents and traditions can be painful too :'((. Theater is not the place where I would want to embarrass myself with tears. But it would be a wonderful catharsis if one could watch it and let it all out.

You could take Bollywood out of romance, but you can never take romance out of Bollywood. Directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru, the film Sanam Teri Kasam exemplifies this.

Like any other love story, the film is about two individuals who are nothing like each other. Inder (Harshvardhan Rane) is the son of a criminal lawyer (and somewhat a criminal himself), while Saraswati (Mawra Hocane) is the daughter of a stern, unyielding father, a 'Vibhuti aunty' nobody wants to marry. As fate would have it, their lives change when Saraswati's father disowns her and performs her last rites. On one hand, an 'ugly duckling' transforms into a swan, and on the other, a felon is smitten.

With a run time of 155 minutes, a substantial measure of the first half is spent on the lives of these two individuals before they meet and what comes about when their paths eventually converge. Not only is the narrative a typical love story, it also reinforces discarded gender stereotypes. Though it has nothing new to offer, the film offers respite at an interesting point- an unanswered question.

As we go through the second half, Saru decides to marry a man she had been crushing on. However, this decision does not translate into matrimony. Already tragic in the first place, we find the plot dependent on yet another tragic occurrence – a terminal illness. It is this that mends Saraswati's and Inder's relationships with their respective fathers.

Despite the drawbacks in the film, the background score and music as a whole facilitate the emotional immersion the audience goes through. They make the film less about a rational representation of reality, and more about an emotional one.

One of the most striking points of this film is the convincing performances delivered by the actors. They manage to live up to the quality that makes Indian cinema real; they make you cry.

Verdict: Predictable, yet moving.
