Dookudu is number 1 grosser in Tollywood now.a Good Entertainer..

First half of the movie sets the plot up and it is entertaining. There are ups and downs in the second half, but the entertainment provided by Mahesh Babu, Brahmanandam and MS Narayana takes care of it. The plus points are Mahesh Babu's charm, Seenu Vytla's comedy timing and a workable script. On the flip side, there is a bit of redundancy in villain characterizations. Mahesh Babu delivers an universally acceptable entertainer in the form of Dookudu after a gap of five years. Go and watch it. Mahesh Babu proved himself again that he is a director's actor. He has a big heart to allow Brahmanandam to take center stage for a few minutes, though it is Mahesh who creates such situations. One should have a flair to time the comedy of Seenu Vytla and Mahesh does it effortlessly. Mahesh is one of the comedians when he is with Brahmanandam and MS Narayana. Mahesh Babu has also excelled in dialogue delivery by mixing Telangana accent in villain confrontation scenes. Mahesh Babu's trade mark teasing romance works big time in Turkey episodes. You see Mahesh being cheerful and smiling in most of the parts of the film.

Fmovies: Strengths: Mahesh Babu, Prakash Raj and MS Narayana Comedy. Weakness: Artificial development of Scenes, Songs and Predictable/routine screenplay of Sreenu.

Mahesh did a spectacular job as always, but this is not his kind of movie for sure. It's more like Sreenu vytla's movie, however this time it appears to be more like an action oriented movie than a family entertainer. May be presence of Mahesh made the difference i guess. Still I feel the MAGIC is not there in the film to stand a winner. Dialogues are really good. The pace of the film and screenplay really don't give you a chance to think whether it is really possible what Hero did to save his Father. Film is different for Mahesh though not up to his standards.

Story

Shankar Narayan (Prakash Raj) is a political leader and a man of masses. He wants his son Ajay (Mahesh Babu) to become a political leader. Shankar Narayan is hurt in an accident and goes into coma. Meanwhile Ajay grows up and goes onto become an aggressive cop. And suddenly Shankar Narayan comes out of coma. The rest of the story is all about how Ajay manages to keep the changes under wrap for his father, and takes revenge on the villains at the same time with some unconventional ploys.

Artists Performance

Mahesh Babu: Mahesh Babu proved himself again that he is a director's actor.

Others: Samantha has a limited role in this movie and she does justice. Brahmanandam has a dialogue in the film - nannu vaadukondi saar. Seenu Vytla is one of very few directors who utilizes the talent of Brahmanandam to the maximum extent. All those Brahmanandam lovers will have another feast in this movie in which he acts an actor of a fictitious reality show. The way Brahmanandam keeps expressions for 'bheebhatsamaina humanity' dialogue and the scene in which he appeals to Nagarjuna Akkineni using his camera pen is priceless. MS Narayana who has excelled as fire star in Dubai Seenu does another similar role in which he wants to make his debut as hero opposite Genelia. Prakash Raj is seen in a positive role (inspired by PJR) and he is excellent. Vennela Kishore does the role of Sastry whose grandmother is a fortuneteller. Nassar has done a comic role for a difference..

Technical departments

Story - screenplay - direction: The basic concept of a person going into coma and that person's son creating artificial atmosphere around is inspired by a German film titled 'Goodbye Lenin! (2003) '. That German film is a serious film and somewhat boring (for me). The story writer Gopi Mohan used that plot and moulded it to make an entertaining script. Seenu Vytla's main strength has always been entertainment and he made sure that there are ample characters to create humor. He used Brahmanandam and MS Narayanara effectively to create ample humor. Characterization of Mahesh Babu is done well and the director has also shown Mahesh Babu in new light with better comedy timing. Though the entertainment and action orientation is good, there are ups and downs in the narrative graph due to runtime and number of characters. Screenplay of the film is good. The screenplay techniques used on Prakash Raj taking revenge without knowing about it and Brahmanandam's crazy realty show will surely generate more commercial appreciation. Among all the characters, I feel that the character of Suman is not properly etched. It would have been more powerful if hero is introduced through the words of some other character, not through Suman's. And the death of Suman is also not justifiable. The following aspects of Seenu Vytla's trademark

1. Mahesh Babu: heroine teasing in Istanbul n Making Brahmanandam and MS Narayana Bakras. 2. Br

Dookudu fmovies. **PROLOUGE**

Starred by none other than Mahesh Babu and Directed by Srinu Vytla. This flick is expected to be the next big thing in Tollywood.

This movie can be Srinu Vytla's magnum opus. He took at least 3 years to prepare the movie. He polished Gopimohan's story to suit Mahesh Babu and worked nice comedy into it for the best of the movie.

**PLOT**

Ajay Kumar (Mahesh Babu) is a sincere, stylish and hardened police officer hell bent on taking down an underworld kingpin, Don Nayar (Soonu Sood). He goes to Istanbul to track down the kingpin, where he accidentally meets Prashanthi (Samantha). He instantly realizes that she is the One. Oops, never expected that! :)

The rest is how he catches the villain and gets the girl. We will know later that he is in for revenge.

As, you can see, the plot never deviates from the formula proved one's. Find anything new in it? I don't :|

**CHARACTERIZATIONS**

Ajay Kumar character is well developed. He is ravishing, witty, quick and can dodge a 100 bullets like they were pop corn. He knows what he wants.

Prashanti, played by Samantha is pure eye candy (congrats, Samantha, way to go!?). Chinmayi lend her voice to breath life into the character, just like in Ye Maaya Chesave.

Nayak (Sonu Sood) is supposed to be the dreaded villain. His screen presence felt kind of funny, taking every trap the hero has set for him.

Srinivasa Rao Kota, Brahmanandam, MS Narayana and other comedians are an asset to this film. But sometimes they tire the audience with their larger-than-life antics.

Shankar Narayana (Prakash Raj), is a good old MLA, loved by everyone in his constituency. His character is enigmatic and plausible in the screen. Proved time and again that Prakash Raj is an excellent actor.

**SCREENPLAY**

The movie length is careful so as not to make the film boring. It mixes all the stereotype things that are reserved for Tollywood films and presents them nicely.

But eventually wears us out, making us wonder where's that awesome thing we are waiting to happen in the film....

**MUSIC**

Thaman, the new Music Director from the south, gave a very good score for the movie. Nevertheless, he has plenty of room to improve. But his songs are a hit and sets the peppy mood for the film.

**TECHNICAL**

The cinematography by K. V. Guhan, Prasad Murella is just awesome. If nothing else, this is enough to watch movie!! The team went to the extra edge to set high production values for the film.

**CONCLUSION**

Straight to the point : The movie is neither DARING enough to try out a new creative plots nor DASHING enough to break free of old weary stereotypes.

But it is to be noted that all the resources of this movie are nicely worked out.

So, instead we get a normal film in a very stylish, star studded 'package'.

You can not ask for more than what this movie offers especially in its kind. Kudos to Mahesh, what an actor TFI has got, in fact Indian cinema. He excelled in every form of acting, comedy, action, sentiment. Great job by the director and thanks to him for giving such a wholesome entertainer to the cinema lovers. He has come up with a decent story and worked really good on the screen play to make sure That audience would not get bored even for few minutes. All the artists justified their characters. No need to mention about BRAMHI and MS They just ROCK. Thaman, the music director, gave decent tunes and terrific Back ground music. Go and watch you will enjoy the movie.

We guessed it right. Dookudu is really a big leap in Mahesh brand entertainment. There is, delightfully, a bonus. The film is a big leap in Vytla brand entertainment as well. To put it in a nutshell, this awesome film has got everything which you might have expected to see in Khaleja (2010) but did not find in it. Dookudu has got everything - comedy, action, romance. On the top of it, there is an intelligent screenplay that coalesces adrenaline punches with comic drama and sentiment. And when the sentiment involves a superstar like Mahesh Babu and an ace like Prakash Raj, who strike a perfect chemistry on screen, you cannot ask for more. It would be far-fetched to even suggest that Dookudu is a classic, as the hero had wanted it to be, but it is indubitably a must-watch film.

Thankfully, the drama and action are not routine. They are laced with rib-tickling comedy and touching sentimentality. Vaitla blends all the commercial ingredients in his inimitable style and makes Dookudu an enjoyable fare for all and how?

Well, here it is how he does it. Much like Dhee, Ready and King, this film too sees the the hero making everyone live in a fool's paradise: things go as the hero wants them. Nayak marvels at old Telugu classics and Ghantasala's rendition of the Gita; Brahmanandam, who believes that he is part of a reality show (this one, believe us, is top class), has you in splits as he is fooled around without a respite; MS Narayana's spoofing of Magadheera and Simha is superb; Prime Minister NTR, speaking on the ramparts of Red Fort in chaste Telugu, promises to bring black money back; Master Bharath participates in multi-crore land dealings and brings smiles. Even a get-to-gether of Mahesh, Samantha's families becomes an occasion for comedy of lies and bakras. Episodic treatment keeps your interest alive. Every murder comes with a touch of humour. Welcome to the world of Srinu Vaitla.

As for the performances, Mahesh delivers one of his career bests. He can now safely claim, without inviting ridicule, that Dookudu is a slap on the face of those who declared that he is not good at comedy. He shows verve and energy in action scenes. He is convincing in the khaddar get-up. He is remarkable at spouting one-liners as the super-efficient cop. He is trigger-happy, but is immediately funny in taking digs at his stupid senior Nasser.

All comedians and character artists do justice to their roles. On the flip side, however, Samantha is not seen much in the second half. But when she sizzles on the screen in Itu Raye number, you swoon.

Tehnicially, it is proof what a Digital Intermediate finish can make a film look like. It is visually rich.

Post Script: Babu land aithe opposition ku bande, Dharmavarapu Subrahmanyam says to a frightened Sonu Sood. Prince proves he is Numero Uno. The fight for top slot is over. Cool.
