WTF!

It was the weirdest guilty pleasure I've ever seen. It's the type of thing that you tell everyone you hate but you secretly liked.

A can of toxic waste falls off a truck, into a lake and onto a Beaver dam where the animals get infected.

At the same time a group of horny people under the age of 24, go into the woods to have sex. (just noting, nothing ever good happens to people under the age of 24 who go into the woods to have sex).

You get the idea from here where the story is going. What was laid out is not going to revolutionize the horror or zombie genre, but you got to admit the idea of Zombeavers is cleaver enough to get us to take a look.

But all you'll get from watching this movie is pure laughter, so I hope that's what the filmmakers are going for, because that's what this film is worth, a few really good laughs at how ridiculous the movie is.

In fact, the only possibly fright factor in the movie is the cheap and campy Beaver puppets which did look like, as the movie pointed out big fat rodents, and if you don't like rats, it does make your skin crawl when these things start to pop out of nowhere.

It's campy as hell but it's worth seeing for some giggles.

Fmovies: Literally as teens going to/into a cabin and metaphorically with the movie as a whole. But you know what? It does work. I didn't think it would, but it does. Obviously you have to like the humor the movie is serving you (it doesn't take itself serious!). There is also a lot of "real" effects, so you see the "monsters" as puppets. Some might say this is cheap, but I think it adds to the charm and the joke the movie is trying to pass on.

The movie also rounds up the story very nicely, so if you liked the first couple of minutes, you'll like the movie as a whole. There is also nudity, although this movie wouldn't really need it in my eyes. Just a nice fun fest, that you can either enjoy or leave aside. Judge what side you're on after the beginning, which sets the tone

'ZOMBEAVERS': Four Stars (Out of Five) Zombie flick spoof about a group of college kids, staying at a cabin on the river, who are attacked by killer zombie beavers. The film was directed and co-written (with Al Kaplan and Jon Kaplan) by comedy writer and actor, turned first time feature filmmaker, Jordan Rubin. The movie stars three lovely ladies; named Cortney Palm, Rachel Melvin and Lexi Atkins. It also costars Hutch Dano, Jake Weary, Peter Gilroy and Rex Linn; and it features cameos by Bill Burr, John Mayer and Brent Briscoe. The movie is pretty much exactly what it sounds like; I had a great time! Palm, Melvin and Atkins play three young college students (named Zoe, Mary and Jenn), that decide to get away for the weekend; by staying at a cabin on the river, in the small town of Ashwood. Jenn's boyfriend, Sam (Dano), recently cheated on her; so her friends are trying to help her get over him. That becomes pretty hard to do when Sam shows up at the cabin, with his buddies Tommy (Weary) and Buck (Gilroy); who are also Mary and Zoe's boyfriends. A lot of drinking and sex follows, of course, until things become more complicated; when they're attacked by mutated zombie beavers, from a dam on the river. The film is actually a pretty good (and mostly traditional) zombie slasher flick; it goes through all the usual (and routine) B-horror flick clichés (and it does a pretty good job at it). It's also a great comedy and zombie movie spoof though; so fans of both genres get what they crave (and are expecting). I love movies like this and, I'm happy to say, I was also pleasantly surprised by it. I think Rubin did a great job directing the movie and he, and his co-writers, also did an excellent job writing the script (it's clever and a lot of fun). The animatronic zombie beavers look great, and the actors are all more than adequate in their roles; I especially like Palm's performance (she's also super hot in it). The film is about as much fun as you can expect, from a movie called 'ZOMBEAVERS'!

Zombeavers fmovies. This film is terrible and knows it, you get what you expect, a great b-movie, with wonderfully bad acting, and a bonkers plot. Gave me a fair share of giggles watching this, if you haven't seen it, watch honestly just to experience this. I want more b-movies just like this.

Well, as soon as I saw Zombeavers advertised on another crappy DVD I had purchased I knew I HAD to watch it. The storyline is predictable, the same as most low budget mutated animal films, but these are MY FAVOURITE KIND OF MOVIES :-) Right from the off you can tell that the film isn't taking itself seriously, which is exactly how these sort of films should be made. The acting is okay-ish, not the worst I have seen by far! The dialogue is actually not that bad either, which makes a change! The effects are my absolute favourite part of this film, they are mainly puppets and they do not heavily rely on irritatingly bad CGI. There is nothing more annoying for me than a film with creature effects that look like a cartoon (Anaconda 3!!!!!), or over use of the same CGI scenes just flipped around (Megashark vs Giant Octopus), so this film took it back to the old school 'horrors'. I love monster movies, I love zombie movies and this really had the best of both worlds. Although I really didn't care for any of the characters because ofc they made stupid decisions, I really enjoyed watching how this film played out. Weirdly, i absolutely did NOT guess where this film was going! It is well worth a watch if you fancy a gory giggle :-) Enjoy!! x

If you are sitting down to watch a film called Zombeavers - and reading any sort of synopsis out there - then you should know what you are getting into. It's going to be tacky, cheeky, bonkers, perhaps cheap and firmly aimed at a section of the horror movie faithful who enjoy such nutty and bloody delights.

Zombeavers is not a great film of course, but for the sub-genre of horror it sits in it's actually better than many bigger comedy/horror productions that have been churned out in the last three decades. Don't get me wrong, it's no Tucker & Dale vs. Evil, but there's a whole bunch of fun to be had watching the makers purposely tick of the clichés and requisite requirements for such cinematic fare. Some adroit gags exist in amongst the the booby flesh and animatronic chaos, with the dialogue often as razor sharp as the teeth on the disturbed genus Castor beings.

It is never going to be making any horror fan's best of list, and only the infected of mind would heartily recommend it as a must see. But it is a fun picture if you are in the mood to leave your brain at the Beaver Lodge. 6/10
