Not funny at all! How do you have an entire SNL cast of ladies and not a single laugh...it was so dull and boring. I expected more.
Fmovies: No real story line or plot, not funny, no point or aim, in great need of editing (soo many long, boring, slow moving scenes which aren't needed), all the characters are cardboard cut-outs... Just really terrible.
As a Gen Xer turning 50 next year I was expecting it to hit home. I also expected this to be a typical gals weekend flick that would hit the usual touchstones.
Several women in varying degrees of crisis? Check.
Alcohol fueled high jinx? Check (duh it's called Wine Country)
Dramatic scene near the end where everyone bears their souls? Check
Happy resolution? Absolutely check.
But the way they get there is so charming and funny and likeable you're willing to forgive the tropes.
I related to every character in one way or another and cackled in recognition. My daughter watched part of it with me and couldn't understand why I was laughing.
Can I just say something? I loved it.
Wine Country fmovies. I could only make it through like 15/20 minutes of this since it was just so incredibly bad. Of course there are a lot of good actresses in the movie but with bad writing it really doesn't make a difference. I really don't understand a lot of the reviews on here that say stuff like "Lighten up its not that bad" but in my opinion when you have countless tv shows and movies at our fingertips these days the bar has been drastically raised so I no longer will waste 90 minutes of my time on a so-so movie...and this is way below so-so.
I think a lot of the bad reviews are from people who just don't understand the jokes. And I promise, I do not mean that in a condescending way. If you are a woman who has passed the age of 45 (or maybe if you're married to one) you understand how things start falling apart in a very specific way. This brings all of the things that we are all experiencing to light in a hilarious way.
This movie couldn't possibly be more boring if it tried. Nothing happens, there's no actual storyline. It seems like a group of friends sitting around writing a first draft of a movie they want to make. The entire thing is a plotless, pointless, boring, unrelated batch of scenes Frankensteined together. What a waste of the time and talents of a great cast. Sorry, Amy; this goes in the "Fail" column.
