The Layover (2017)

Two women who have known each other since school find themselves down on their luck. One is impulsive and care-free the other responsible and considered. A spontaneous trip away sees them stranded with a hot guy they are both interested in.

This is a pretty well used format, but normally with two guys chasing a pretty girl. With the genders flipped it means the knob gags are switched for boob gags and the girls try to out-flirt each other rather than out- impress each other.

Now there is nothing particularly new here and I didn't find the film hilariously funny.

But the two leads are very engaging and have great chemistry. Their relationship is quite subtly handled and I enjoyed their antics. Their quarry fits the bill perfectly and feels worthy of their attention.

This isn't the funniest or slickest comedy out there but I found it a great waste of ninety minutes.

Fmovies: There was a lot of natural acting done in this movie, and by natural i mean not over enhanced for viewing experience, by that i am saying that Kate Upton and Alexandra Daddario are very good actors, the only problem was that their acting was too real in a sort of way that puts the viewing experience off at times, but i had a lot of laughs and reactions to scenes so it was a good experience.

With that being said ill have to say that yes the scripting was really bad, they could have done a lot more to make this a good movie, the camera shots were good most times, and there is a fair amount of fan service as you may expect.

So its not really a cinema worthy movie for everyone, but i would still recommend it to be watched for the experience.

I absolutely loved this film, being female I have seen the competition for a guy over the years and it does happen. Sometimes friends are attracted to the same guy and will try and out do each other. Both Kate and Alexandra did a fabulous job acting so crazy for this one guy. The lengths they go too literally had me laughing so loud. The girls are totally opposite in personality but both equally gorgeous. Personally I think Zac Efron or Scott Eastwood should have been cast as the guy isn't even really worth the fight. Don't listen to the bad reviews and give this film a go. Definitely a chick flick and well done to the girls.

The Layover fmovies. Possibly the worst film I have ever seen. Really sad to see two strong beautiful women clambering after one man in a desperate situation. Pathetic. Don't bother.

It's hard to believe one of the screen's fine talents, William H.Macy, directed this abomination of a movie. I don't care if it's raunchy and crude which it certainly is, but it's also horribly unfunny and that's a deadly combination in my book. To add insult to injury, I found the film to be terribly demeaning of women.

All in all, save yourself the pain and run far far away from this stinker!

The Layover is an R-rated comedy starring Kate Upton and Alexandra Daddrio. The film has its moments but it's clear from its trailers what to expect. Being largely panned from critics, one should have low expectations when watching. At most, the Layover, the film feels like a teenage sitcom or something in which twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have done in their time back then.

The comedy isn't too forced but it really isn't funny in many ways. Predictable and television type humor. The film isn't too long which passes time quickly, though other than most there is some entertainment watching both leads interact with one another. It's a light hearted comedy, perhaps some critics are being too harsh. It's what to expect.
