The bare minimum story here is just to support the action sequences, and that's not necessarily a bad thing either. Every film doesn't necessarily have to be unique, it just needs to be good at whatever it is trying to be.

Sanak is one of those movies. It doesn't break any grounds in terms of its storytelling, cinematography and whatnot. It's a to-the-point action flick that knows what it wants to be and delivers graciously on that. The action sequences are brilliant, fluid and well-choreographed and don't break the laws of Physics, as most Indian film does.

Vidyut Jamwal shows here why he is the best action star working in Bollywood. When the script demands to show raw emotions, he falters but in action sequences, he excels with his astounding physicality. Chandan Roy Sanyal is good as the primary antagonist. The cinematography is cool and conveys the claustrophobic environment admirably. One thing that really bothered me during the film's entire runtime is the dialogues of this film. They sound amateurish and not at all like how normal people converse, especially the way how the leads talk with each other.

If you are craving for an entertaining non-stop action ride, just go for it. It's a by-the-numbers actioner that excels in what it does and delivers what genre fans crave from such films, a fun time.

Fmovies: When you see the name Vidyut Jammwal the one thing comes to your mind is Action. And this movie has it all. Kudos to the action and stunt director for showing such a phenomenal action sequences and a totally unique one that we never seen in Bollywood. Action choreography was outstanding with solid bgm makes it a worth watch. Action fans get ready for this treat because you can't imagine what action you are going to watch. Story was simple nothing new to it and if you're main aim focusing on action then you have done your job because action part saves the film. There's no one that can match the action level like VIDYUT JAMMWAL in bollywood. Nobody can match him and I hope nobody does. If you are a action lover then do no miss this movie at any cost....

Sanak is an "out n out" action thriller starring Vidyut Jamwal, Chandan Roy Sanyal, Rukmini Maitra and Neha Dhupia. A treat for fans of the action film genre. Well choreographed fight scenes are the USP of this film, thanks to the supporting cast who who have essayed the roles of the terrorists who take over a hospital in order to secure the release of an elite arms dealer who is being operated there.

This film reminds you a lot of Bruce Willis' Die Hard 1 where the protagonist single handedly takes on & annihilates a gang of terrorists.

Nothing special about the story .. the usual stuff. However what sets it apart is the brilliant action scenes which you will definitely enjoy ...adios🙂

Sanak fmovies. Now some dumb people here would say ok this is a typical Hostage action movie, but there not many such in Hindi movies. When you're making such a movie with plenty of action, which is well choreographed you need an actor like John or Vidyut. He has done justice in the role, story is decent, action is super and it's a good fun watch. Helped by some good stuntmen who I believe are all international cast and stuntmen thankfully needed for such a movie.

Go enjoy and don't complain.

There are a number of movies on the subject of a hostage situation with a few on such a situation in hospitals where a loved one of the hero is inside the hospital. This film's title Sanak is explained as" hope under siege" a reminder of the recent movie " State of siege, Temple attack" which was a similar movie , just replace hospital with temple.

Think "Diehard" and this film is similar. Change Bruce Willis from an ex cop to Vidyut Jammwal as a MMA coach and change Bruce's ex wife to Vidyut's wife trapped inside the hospital. Not that it matters, but the treatment is similar. Like in "Diehard" the villain plays a big role here too. All credit to Chandan Roy Sanyal for playing a slave, slick and smart bad man with some effective dialogue delivery. He steals quite a few scenes from Vidyut. The movie will thrill fans of Vidyut since there is plenty of action and every 15 minutes or so there is a well choreographed scene of hand to hand combat. Think of the various departments of the hospital like MRI machine or lobby or laundry or new borns room and there is action there.

Director Kanishk Varma has made an entertaining movie and the audience, specially the younger lot will enjoy the action and excitement. Not a dull moment as the cat and mouse game between the hero and the villain provides the thrills. Neha Dhupia impresses as the emotionally charged ACP supervising the rescue operations.

Set in Mumbai, the story unfolds in a hospital that is under siege, where Vivaan Ahuja, an MMA Trainer (Vidyut Jammwal) and his wife Anshika (Rukmini Maitra) are trapped. The linear narrative of Kanishk Varma's Sanak is a battle between two opponents that make up the bulk of the proceedings--Vivaan Ahuja, the fit and muscled guy, and Saju (Chandan Roy Sanyal) with his band of skilled fighters who have taken all the people in the hospital as hostages.

This 1 Hr 57 Mins Action--Drama, written by Ashish P. Verma, begins slowly by emphasising the chemistry between the lead couple as they celebrate their third anniversary. But, minutes later, we're in a siege situation at the hospital, where Anshika is being held captive alongside other people, and Vivaan arrives to save her. The basic plotline is predictable from the word go: the hero will bash up the bad guys to a pulp and save them all.

Saurabh Bhalerao and Suyash Kelkar's background score is far impressive though. The USP of this film, like those of Vidyut Jammwal's previous works, is Action. With his power-packed action moves, he is a one-man army attempting to control the situation and save everyone. In comparison to the terrorists, Vidyut Jammwal has been given a lot of screen time to perform stunts, and he scores in every action scene. All credit goes to Andy Long Nguyen, the Action Director who is also a trained martial arts fighter; the viewers won't have time to blink throughout the combat sequences, especially the one in the physiotherapy room. The climactic battle, on the other hand, is too good and memorable.

Vidyut Jammwal's honesty towards his craft is what saves Sanak from its weak moments. Given that the setting is a hospital, the action director and team have used some genius stunts that involve an MRI machine, a Swiss ball in the physio room and other such innovative ideas. Thankfully the film doesn't have the song-and-dance routine and the focus does stay on the action when it finally kicks in. Vidyut fans get their fair share of action with the actor going all out to ensure he delivers with his signature moves.

The leading ladies, Rukmini Maitra as Anshika and Neha Dhupia as ACP Jayati Bhargav, have a limited role to play. They have, however, done so with finesse. Neha Dhupia made a grand entry as a tough cop interrogating a criminal, but, her character arc was sketchily written, and she ended up playing a role of a cop who is merely trying to deal with the situation.

In a negative role, Chandan Roy Sanyal has impressed with his performances in the past, and here too, he looks just as convincing as Saju. He is ruthless, frightening and maniacal without trying too hard. Additionally, he has got some good dialogues to deliver.

Overall, Vidyut Jammwal's slick kicks, punches and backflips raise the stakes of this action-packed drama. Of course, it's predictable, but if you're a die-hard Vidyut Jammwal fan or like action movies, this is the one for you.
