Been among one of those movies I don't get tired of since I was little, kinda weird though I'm not a fan of wrestling but I absolutely love the story of Ready to Rumble! Brian Robbins, the Director, is great, and I really enjoy David Arquette's movies. The ridiculous jokes and mindless fun is so comforting to me. Something about the tone of 90's and early 2000's films is glorious enlightenment! Also Joe Pantoliano is one of my favorite actors, he's legendary and so is Oliver Platt in many projects.

Fmovies: "Ready To Rumble" is an example of what's wrong with films today. From its glorification of professional wrestling to its non-stop scatalogical humor, it was painful to watch. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy stupid comedies as much as the next guy, but watching David Arquette acting more like a baboon than on his telephone commercials is not my idea of a fun time. Will someone please get this guy a new agent? Courtney Cox, please read some of these scripts before he signs on! Meanwhile, Oliver Platt is completely unbelievable as the "professional wrestling champion of the world." Poor Martin Landau is reduced to playing a over-the-hill wrestler. The only laughable part of this movie, besides the fact that it was so bad, was a hilarious crack on Michael Bolton. I admit you are at a disadvantage if you are not a pro-wrestling fan, but I would hope even The Rock would lay the smackdown on this film. The act of watching this movie is as painful as the countless hits to the crotch the filmmakers thought were so amusing. This film is below the belt, and unless you are a big Adam Sandler fan, stay out of the ring for this one.

David A. in a starring role was bad enough but to try and destroy the career of Oliver Platt with him is downright sick. Nothing is funny about this film, in fact it's as sad as sad can be. Talk about a movie that is an insult to B-movies!! The film sucks, it has no laughs and really had no biz on the big screen. In fact, this film has no biz in the USA at all

Ready to Rumble fmovies. Although if you know quite a bit about wrestling, you will find this movie to be one of the most trashy and horrid pieces ever (why Oliver Platt? Get a wrestler for God's sake to wrestle!), but for being a piece used mainly to showcase WCW stars, it wasn't too bad, it let you see that some of the guys actually have some of that stuff called talent. Plus, it made for some of the lowest moments in WCW history when they strapped the gold around Mr. Arquette's waist (resume now includes: Scream bitch/1-800 idiot/WCW world champion), so anytime I can see the makings of what would turn out to be a big step in the demise of WCW is a good thing for me.

All in all, not bad, good for a few laughs, while the ending kinda sucked, not an overly bad film, unlike Mr. Nanny, remember that? And now that the movie "Backyard Dogs: The Movie" is out, it won't have to worry about being the worst wrestling film ever made!

Sure, the acting isn't always steady, and the direction sometimes vague. The editing acceptable. But so what? This movie embraces whole-heartedly the world of professional wrestling, including its public face, that of the over-done, over-wrought actor, bleeding for his public. Following the two main characters, people with nothing much in their life besides being wrestling fans, on a quest to help their hero regain his status as numero uno, is really great fun. Why? Because they are true believers, fanatics, and willing to do anything. I haven't laughed so hard with a movie in a long time. Don't miss the out-takes during the closing credits, either. They're worth the price of admission.

Even though I'm not a very big WCW fan, I still thought it had some very funny parts. The movie itself of course was a bit lame, but I guess it was made for laughs. I'm surprised they made this movie about WCW and not WWF? I mean WWF is a lot more popular than WCW. I though it would have been way better if it was based on WWF and not WCW. But everything else of the movie was decent. I'm a huge wrestling fan and I love wrestling. So whatever movie is based on wrestling, I Like! This movie deserves a B+
