For myself, Rambo - First blood part 3 is one of the best action movies ever. In fact the story is a little bit poor, once again the typical one vs an army-story we know already from Rambo 2. Everyone, who does not think about a stupid story and the "Evil-Russians-topic" gets an explosive and very bloody action movie without long periods of boredom. In his original uncut version the movie is banned in Germany and this has good reasons. The film is absolutely nothing for kids. In my opinion the Littleton-massacre a few weeks ago was a direct consequence of films like Rambo. If you're old enough, watch it ! The final fight starts with the following dialog: "John, what're you thinking ?" Rambo:" F**k'em!"

Fmovies: Third entry directed by Peter MacDonald with lots of frenetic action and plenty of blood and violence . Thrilling and moving Rambo episode in which he goes to Afghanistan to rescue his former Vietnam superior commandant , Colonel Samuel Trautman , Richard Crenna . The famous trilogy was subsequently completed by the recent ¨ John Rambo¨ , a definitive improvement and directed by the same Stallone in which Rambo fights enemies in Thailand ; nevertheless the best considered is the original . Violent movie with Rambo character who started in ¨First Blood¨ and launched Stallone career going on his successful Rambo episodes . Sylvester Stallone as brawny hero Rambo is top-notch , he was a previous Green Beret , now retired and living a pacific existence in a Buddist temple (itself was a real temple in Thailand undergoing renovation at the time of filming , also many of the Monk extras were in fact real Monks from that very temple who were paid to appear as extras) . We see Rambo's scars from First Blood (the scar on his right arm, caused by the fall through the trees) and Rambo: First Blood Part II (the small scar right above his left cheek, caused by the heated knife scraped by his eye). He has retreated to a easy life in a rural Thai location , taking part a stick fighting match , and in construction site of a Buddhist temple . Here Rambo again has his usual enemies , the Russians , who control a particular sector of Afghanistan battling Afghan rebels , the Mujahideen, who are fighting the Soviets in the Soviet-Afghan War . Rambo goes behind Russian-dominated enemy lines too rescue his former colonel from jail , he had been taken while delivering Stingers ; the problems that the Russian forces faced with American Stinger missiles, as described in this movie, were very real, and accounted for hundreds of Russian helicopters during the real war . As John Rambo joins a warrior named Masoud (Sasson Gabai , whose character is a reference to a real-life leader of the Afghani resistance against the Russian occupation) and a kid to venture behind enemy lines where Trautman (Richard Crenna) was abducted by the ruthless Russian general (Marc De Jonge) . He then frees the prisoner but the cruel General and his soldiers set off in pursuit and carry out a brutal massacre and Rambo leads his pursuers into all kinds of booby snares , puts dangerous traps in the desert and mountains . Rambo appears threatening , lurking and harassing to his enemies pursuers escaping the innumerable risks and dangers .

From the beginning to the end the comic-book action-packed and extreme violence is continued and it's fast movement ; for that reason the picture is pretty amusing ; furthermore contains lots of explosions and some of the best action scenes ever made , including an impressive machine-gun attack , spectacular scenes with helicopters and impressive ending battle between a tank driven by Rambo and a Mi-24 Hind-A helicopter . Stallone is enormous as the tough and rebel one army man , however here is no female role in the main cast, and few women appear in the film . With its $63m budget, this was the most expensive film ever made at the time of its release . The outdoors are spectaculars , the landscapes have been filmed on location in Bangkok ,Chiang Mai , Buddhist Monestary, Thailand , Tel Aviv , Eilat, Israel ,Fort Yuma Indian Reservation, Yuma, Arizona, USA . Awesome and exceptional cinematography by the cameraman John Stanier . Splendid and rousing musical score by Jerry Goldsmith , series' usual , though composed by means of synt

I think this film was judged too much on subject matter and not as an excellently shot action film. Each action sequence is done with immense skill and quality. Sure the script is dodgy, USA v USSR so what!

Its time to turn your brain off and enjoy!

Rambo III fmovies. Underrated Gem third blast explosive action movie of all time. Kick-ass bad-ass action film my absolutely favorite film of all time. Yes Rambo III is my favorite action film of all time. Crimminally underrated. I love this film to death this is 'Over the top Gun Blasting, C4 Tipped Explosive Arrow Blowing Up Helicopters' Rambo. It was the first Rambo movie I saw as a kid. This is my second favorite film Rambo III is my favorite action film. It grew on me.

"Who are you? Your worst nightmare!"

Rambo: First Blood Part II and Rambo III are my favorite action films I am a Rambo fan I chose those two movies over First Blood. I can't decide they are both equally my number 1 favorite action films. I love love this film to death. I enjoy action pieces and I understand what the films is about. It is so bad that it is so good. NO it is so bad that is so good that it is a kick ass. It is a fun entertaining action film from the 80's. Staring Sylvester Stallone as John Rambo EX green barret on a mission in Afghanistan to rescue his commanding officer and friend Col. Samuel Trautman (Richard Crenna).

Rambo III is still a bad ass film ! Pure action , pure Adrenaline pure Testosterone. It was my first Rambo movie I saw that introduced me in to the character. Rambo is a comic book hero that is my comic book hero. With bow and C4 tip arrows with his knife. I grew up with these guys. People are saying it is the weakest one I disagree. It is a god among action films in my opinion. Rambo: First Blood Part II and Rambo III a god among action films than now days. Rambo III is better than First Blood or Rambo: Last Blood they will never be at the top of these two sequels I love dearly.

The year of 1988 was the release year for RAMBO III.

Here is what I love about this movie: Rambo hunts Specnaz commandos in the cave with bow and arrow blue cyalume light. Fires with his bow an arrow an attached blue cyalume light at the Soviets commando in the cave. He hunts Specnaz commandos with C4 tip arrows. Rambo uses M203 grenade launcher with AKM destroying an army truck. Rambo destroys the chopper with soviet heavy machine. Rambo has a new survival knife a modified bowie designed and I love how he uses to cut barbed wire on the base perimeter. I love the fight between Rambo and Kourov (Randy Raney) and which Rambo uses a fly kick I love that in the film. Rambo climbs the wall without climbing equipment that is memorable and favorite scene of mine.

RAMBO is finally UNLEASHED in RAMBO III!!! He has an open battlefield, a modern array of weapons, flies a massive Russian made Mil Mi-24 attack helicopter, drives a Tank and frees the Afghan Mujahedeen freedom fighters from genocide by the former Soviet Union, also known as the Russians (at that time)!! The opening scene with the stick fighting is very nice. The flow from start to finish is fluid. The boundless action and storyline coalesce beautifully in a synergistic manner! The historical base of the story, action and acting provide some transparent grit to the Real-World Soviet - Afghan war. And what do you know, The Good Guys Win!!

Sylvester Stallone really was in his best shape of his life, draging under tank is really hard for a normal person. The action sequences are all practical mostly things were practical. There is no CGI in here. Rated Hard-R for action sequences .Beautiful music score by Jerry Goldmith. I love the chemistry between Sylvester Stallone and Richard Crenna. Kurtwood Smith from RoboCop (1987) Clarence Boddicker i

Peter MacDonald's Rambo 3 is far removed from Ted Kotcheff's credible First Blood and follows the Rambo icon established in George P.Cosmatos' First Blood Part II.

What's notable from the outset is the real life political and conflict shifts since '88, as the Americans are helping the Afghan rebels achieve freedom from the invading Russians. As the cold war ended over night this appeared to hamper this Rambo's already out of date story line box office success. That said, paradoxically it has made Rambo more significant and highlights how quickly an alliance can shift which may stick in some viewers throats satirically or not.

Richard Crenna once again plays Col. Trautman who is captured behind enemy lines and Rambo (Sylvester Stallone) must stage a solo 'unofficial' rescue mission. Again, Stallone is in obscene physical shape for this instalment, and is 100% committed to his role as Rambo. There's a brief appearance by Kurtwood Smith who gives the usual effective performance. Sasson Gabai and Spiros Focás are part of an effective supporting cast. However, the Russians are an array of forgettable extras and Marc de Jonge Colonel Zaysen just can't escape from the stereotype script he's been given.

Rambo 3 is very watchable but in retrospect it's fraught at times by diplomatic changes of the time, even more so in today's climate and ironically this takes the fun out this instalment.

Jerry Goldsmith's score is once again excellent and MacDonald who was handed the directing reigns last minute does his best. There are a few stand out scenes all of which display Stallones refined abilities, a stick fight and horse game. Nevertheless, Sylvester Stallone and Sheldon Lettich screenplay is all comic book dialogue. The film looses memento in the second act and by the third you don't care who lives or dies.

There's gun's, helicopters, bullets, explosions, monks and glow-sticks if that's your thing you'll love Rambo III.

Above average Holywood type action movie that is very under rated because it is very mis-understood.This movie is not to be taken too seriously. If one understands comic book action, that person will dig this movie. The hardware and action sequences here are very top notch. The subject matter is also a good illustration of the Afghan situation at that time. The approach of the movie was on the unrealistic side due to a marketing mainstream "quick cash" decition by the producers of this movie. But compared to other movies of the same genre and category (Holywood Formula Military Action Drama),this one is on a higher level in quality. This one is the worst of all the Rambo movies but still,if you ,like the above mentioned genre, you will enjoy this one........
