Janhit Mein Jaari (2022)

A comedy with socially pertinent connotation; the template Bollywood has been obsessed with in the recent past. Once upon a time, there was a phase in Bollywood when these social commentaries were the 'darlings' of the town, the most talked about! Having achieved consecutive success the producers started treating them as nothing but money-minting recipes. As a result, not only did creativity take a backseat, the authors too lost their hunger for giving rise to an authentic revolution in our society.

Thankfully, 'Janhit Mein Jaari' might bring that change of perspective we all were waiting for. It is cheerful, it is humorous, nearly all jokes land, exactly when and where they are meant to; and the most important thing is, that the message is well conversed and well conveyed. Yes, it may sound a bit preachy and pretentious at times, but trust me, for the most part, the film remained rooted and quite sincere in its way of handling stuff. Moreover, it got all the essential help from the ensemble as well!

Fmovies: For my weekly dose of a cinema in the nearest theatre, I was set to watch a Malayalam film, unfortunately it got postponed for the umpteenth time. Hence from the available list of films I opted to watch for Janhit Mein Jaari which I went to watch without any expectation.

Since it was produced by the director of Ayushmann Khuranna starrer Dream Girl, I expected the same from this film as well.

Like Dream Girl, in this the female protagonist of the film, secures a marketing job for a product which is considered to be taboo in the society. After getting married to her lover the rest of the film showcases if the protagonist is able to change the mindset of her family and society as whole towards the product which in the beginning of the film starts casually.

In terms of performance Nusrat Bharucha, debutant Anud Singh Dhaka, Paritosh Tripathi & Vijay Raaz were the highlights of the film in terms of performance. Meanwhile the script provided laughs till the very end but the only drawback was that towards the end of second half it seemed to be stretched out, yet it turned out to be decent entertainer.

But the saddest part was despite watching the film on the day of it's release, less than 10 had come to watch the film. Perhaps poor marketing can be blamed for the box office failure.

So far the best movie of the year. Not sure y there r lesser shows in multiplexes. And the halls r empty?? It's a definite must-watch.

No unnecessary glam show. Focused on the topic. And entertainment as well. New actors pave their way via their amazing acting and perfect performance.

Janhit Mein Jaari fmovies. Nushrat bharucha should be given a standing ovation for selecting this project and giving such a stellar performance.

The entire cast has done a great job. Although the movie is a bit lengthy but it holds on to your attention to the last.

An important social message has been conveyed in an entertaining and effective style.

Nushrat bharucha is a capable actor. She has proved it this time. Her dialogue delivery and expressions are apt and beatiful. Vijay raaz shines in the sequences he is in and dominates everybody. Anud singh dhaka is a hit and miss for me. But paritosh tripathi hits it out of the park. His comic timing is impeccable. The rest of the supporting cast are decent.

The humour in this film is really good. Sometimes over the top and sometimes subtle but it works most of the times. The writing though is a bit of a problem. The characters are not strong enough to make you root for them. The social theme is not fleshed upon much. It feels like separate scenes fit to make a movie. There is no proper continuation.

The dialogue writing is brilliant. As a result of which the humour works. There are multiple scenes in which the film is bound to make you laugh.

Overall, its a good film and you can watch it. I rate it 8 out of 10.

Please do give it a chance, it's a must watch!! You will love it. It's a laughter RIOT!!! Nushrat and their co stars have nailed their roles. It doesn't get a dull for any moment.. One of the best bollywood movies this year.
