i was up late one night when i see an 80's movie coming on that i have not seen before ( i know it was 80's just by the music). i checked the synopsis on my cable box, it looked good, so i watched.

i thought it was great! he may be a kid with rich parents that pay for everything for him, but thats OK. most parents are like that anyways, just not with as much money. of course, while "seeing the sites" on the all expenses paid vacation courtesy of his parents, he runs into the European girl of his dreams. now, he's a college guy who's whole testosterone lifestyle revolves around getting busy in bed... and he succeeds! who cares that he went to east Berlin to keep getting some, its a movie and half the adventure was him trying to get back across. by the end, it all comes back to the campus where the bad guys are now in "his neighborhood" and he cleans them up with a tranquilizer gun (which is pretty sick by the way... i mean, i would totally take one of those over a 9 mil..). anyways...

this movie was made before i was born, but i think its just another great 80's "brat pack"-style movie that should go down with the best of them.

Fmovies: Before Anthony Edwards became one of the highest-paid actors on television, he played a milquetoast college student to perfection in this not-perfect, but still worthwhile comedy. The title refers to a stealthy dart game that he and his friends play around campus (USC?), although it ironically plays little part in the plot once he and a friend fly off to Paris for spring break to search for culture and young women. Edwards' awkward efforts at romance with a much more sophisticated European lady (the always-terrific Linda Fiorentino) hit just the right note, and the dialogue is full of sharp lines. Just as ironic as the "Gotcha" game becoming a minor plot point is that the Cold War spy subplot became hopelessly outdated when the Wall came down; but the awkward love story set in that now-bygone era will still be relevant as long as there are 18 year-olds like Edwards who look like Bambi but still yearn for love.

If you like E.R. you should watch this movie just to see Anthony Edwards actually being funny!! This movie may have a very corny story, but it´s a good mixture of suspense and comedy, and it manages to entertain the audience very well. This movie has got tons of humorous one-liners that one should put in mind while watching.

Gotcha! fmovies. I first saw "Gotcha!" in 1985, when it first came out. This is, by far, one of the coolest spy flicks of the 1980's -- way better than all of those generic James Bond movies. The scenes in the DDR will put you on the edge of your seat. Makes you relieved you lived in the U.S. during the Cold War. My favorite Anthony Edwards movie (next to "Revenge of the Nerds"). I just watched it tonight for the first time in a decade, and I have to tell you: It is still as entertaining and slick as it was in 1985.

This is superb. There is nothing else to say about it. You know the premise and I'm not about to reveal anymore. Is it somewhat silly? Yes - but aren't they all in this genre? But does it have a good story line and good characters? Does it ever.

I don't think Linda Fiorentino ever looked (or acted) better. This is a romp - and it's filmed across half the world, and it isn't only the second unit that gets to travel, unless there's been some very clever scheduling going on.

This one is a total keeper. Edwards is simply good, Fiorentino is convincing - just don't expect a Picasso. This isn't big like that - but it's bound to cheer you up on an otherwise easy afternoon.

Oh - Alex Rocco and Marla Adams are great as the parents. This is not supposed to be a belly laugh movie, but that just shows what depth and breadth it has. You may not like it - we sure did.

It's got action, it's got sex, it's got humor, and most of all, it's got a college kid who seems to be able to outsmart highly trained German spies. Everyone loves it when a complete loser, virgin college guy gets duped by his spy girlfriend to be the patsy for a large coup involving other spies, CIA, and the FBI. And what better way to show Anthony Edwards beat all of these people than with a mere animal tranquilizer gun. See it, if just for the "Yes, I am a weergin" line.
