Afterlife of the Party (2021)

1. If you own a Google Home TURN IT OFF. Whilst it turns out that this movie is a mini ad for Google Home, which is a bit funny as Google Home had been discontinued when this movie was release, every time the characters announce hey google, it sets off your real life Google Home; something which movies aren't supposed to do if they just had the right audio.

2. So that aside, the movie itself goes pretty much how you expect it to go, zero suprises or twists and turns but it's still an ok movie overall. Kinda like a Disney channel sunday afternoon kinda movie.

Fmovies: Sluggish in the middle with what appears to be a lack of material, and it probably goes a little too long as a result, but Stephen Herek's 'Afterlife of the Party' works more frequently than not. It's one of those films where you already know where it's going but it's fine if you just enjoy the ride. Victoria Justice and Midori Francis are perfectly placed in their respective parts, and they deliver strong performances with warm chemistry that bring their characters to life.

Well I'm not gonna lie, Justice is a beauty.

Another original Netflix movie that featured a social media celebrity. Just like He's All That, right off the first scene I already wanted to turn off the screen. It's like the way characters party and interact with each other felt fake and cringe.

However, when the premise kickstarted, I was actually surprised that this movie wasn't completely unbearable. Although not a new concept, the movie still delivered with fairly impactful scenes with good hearts and redemptions. Also, Victoria Justice was not bad at all. She portrayed her character pretty well, gave some decent emotions, and most importantly wasn't annoying.

Although the story was interesting, I did not like the tone. The cast of the movie reflected the less serious tone. I hated this because the content of the story itself should have been serious and contemplating. I didn't really feel most of the emotions and impact of the themes at the end.

Also, not all of the parts of the story worked. The one with the mother in particular was very flat and had inadequate development.

Overall, decent story and acting but filled with unmatched tone. 6/10.

Afterlife of the Party fmovies. This is your basic comedy with a touch of supernatural that doesn't offer anything groundbreakingly new but is still entertaining if you have nothing else to watch. It is fairly predictable and the acting is not that great; just go in with low expectations and it will be fine.

There are so many issues with this poor film I don't know where to begin. I honestly struggled to finish this but saw it through in the hopes it would get better. The story felt like it was written by a mature 14 year old who took a creative writing class. Also the impractical nonsense is littered in the film. Despite being dead Cassie can move objects and things. People move out of the way to avoid her as well which is obvious during filming. I wish the crew who made it watched Ghost to get some tips on how to do this sort of thing right. A very weak, dull and boring film. The main attraction of it is the eye candy that Victoria Justice is but otherwise it falls flat.

Although not something crazy, I truly enjoyed this movie! So light-hearted, but deep at the same time!
