A House on the Bayou (2021)

This can't be for real...it's clearly the biggest con in movie history.

Everyone involved is in on the joke.

The only ones not in on the joke...are us, the audience.

So unintentionally hilarious, it has to be intentional.

Every single line of dialogue is it's own meme.

Actors constantly saying hilarious things at non-hilarious moments: for example, husband lying on the floor, half eaten by a coyote...and wife asks 'do you have the car keys?'.

I don't know if it's down to the editing, but all the way through, actors lines overlapped, like before actor 1 finishes their sentence, actor 2 starts their line. Bizarre!

Kudos to all involved for this MASSIVE practical joke...you got us! 😂

Fmovies: Doesn't get any worse than this. Issac has to be the worst actor I've ever seen. Anna needs to be slapped in the face ! Just a horrid movie. Whole movie doesn't make any sense. AVOID at all cost !

🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠 No spoilers just a slight tease but quickly here's the deal.

"A HOUSE ON THE BAYOU" Isn't aiming or even interested in run of the mill terror or horror, don't get me wrong it does possess a few terrifying moments but what this film does is truly connect with the viewer unraveling the arduous process of EVIL weaving it's way through lies people think won't destroy them til it knocks at the door.

PROS: 1. Great acting.. Jacob Lofland who plays Issac was perfectly cast. He had moments of pure gold.

2. The writing was phenomenal posing questions like "Everybody knows who God's son is well what about the Devil"?

3. The Characters were a joy to uncover. 9 if you include the all black cat and mystery presence 4. A psychological marvel that resonates after viewing.

5. Whether a reviewer or movie buff the reward of how good it feels when everything just makes sense at the end.

CONS: 1. Running time is 128 minutes But feels half as long. This film would of fared better as a series.

2. It wasn't totally predictable but some things I figured out instantly

I would highly recommend this film that doesn't take the super secretive approach with characters staring at each other and not speaking manufacturing tension, NO it intelligently dives in giving this film a fresh original plot oozing with substance and lure.. Awesome.

A House on the Bayou fmovies. This is a fine simple movie to watch if you are bored. But besides that it really isn't anything worth looking forward too. The antagonist and the main female actress give good performances. The story is simple, has some simple twists bit they work.

This is definitely not a horror though. For 88 minutes it tends to be slow. The dialog is mediocre. And the drama doesn't really work. Mainly due to Schneider's performance which also felt so half baked to me.

The tension it tries to build never really works. And some of the reveals felt lackluster. The gore is just okay, there's not much at all.

Music is alright, but sometimes felt a bit out of place and too loud for the moment.

As a horror this fails, its an okay thriller / drama.

Interesting little horror thriller, about the BAD things people do to each other. I found Isaac very unnerving and a bit charming at the same time. This feels like an old school style horror movie, like Burnt Offerings or The Other (both 70's gothic horror) I found it overall kinda satisfying except for Toby?? :( That bothers me ALOT.

If you like old school gothic horror, then you may well enjoy letting Isaac and Grandpappy take you for a ride in their beat-up ol truck. :O. Not gonna win any Oscars but it's creepy and unnerving and half way decent acting. I found the Mom's acting to be the worst of all but still worth a watch, if you can get past her robotic emotions.

I have definitely seen better movies out of Blum but this felt more like a drama than a horror movie. It was like no one could decided which direction to go in, horror or drama? The little girl was a horrible actress and everyone else just did the bare min. Although I do not recommend watching because it will bore you, I would say it was ok for just a one time watch. It was at least half good so 5 and I was nice so I added one to that.
