Antlers is a great horror that's very atmospheric, disturbing and quite scary, even if the ending is a little too generic. Keri Russell gives an incredible lead performance and Jesse Plemons, Graham Greene and Jeremy T. Thomas are all great. Scott Cooper's direction is excellent, it's extremely well filmed with a few extremely tense moments. It's well paced, the creature design is impressive and the music by Javier Navarette is fantastic.

Fmovies: Antlers: A dark Folk Horror tale involving Amerindian mythology set in a small Oregon town. A sickness is upon the land but the local ecology isn't to be given a chance to recover because the long closed coal mine is set to reopen. Meth is processed in the mine and the cooks want to get their last batches completed, But they are attacked by a strange creature. Weeks later, Lucas (Jeremy T. Thomas) the young son of one of the cooks is feeding animal carcasses to something which howls and bangs against a locked door. His teacher Julia (Keri Russell) is disturbed by Lucas's drawings and the way he retells myths; she has her own demons to deal with, having returned to the town after a 20 year absence. The town itself is poverty stricken, children malnourished, some used y their parents to distribute meth. The horror in the film is visceral, we see people eaten alive by a feral man, a literal Weredeer from Indian legend emerges, goring it's victims with antlers as it devours them. Medicine bags which were used to ward off the creature no longer keep it contained. A satisfying supernatural tale of terror which is not for the squeamish or faint of heart. A great performance by Thomas. Directed by Scott Cooper, screenplay by Cooper, C. Henry Chaisson and Nick Antosca, from a story by Antosca. 8/10.

Antlers (2021) is a movie I recently watched in theatres with my wife. The storyline follows a young, self sufficient, boy who takes care of himself and something in his house. His struggles in school gets the attention of a teacher with her own troubled past. As the two worlds collide things are about to drastically change for both of them. This movie is directed by Scott Cooper (Black Mass) and stars Keri Russell (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes), Jesse Plemons (The Irishman), Jeremy T. Thomas (Lore), Graham Greene (Dances with Wolves) and Amy Madigan (Uncle Buck). The storyline for this is very well presented and told. There is a great pace to this movie setting up the environment and horror elements over time and then an explosion of action, intensity, blood, guts and gore. The characters are delivered and acted well. I do think there's some elements that could have been better developed (aspects of the family and entity), but this is one of the best movies ever released "on this topic." It isn't the first movie where this has been the horror element, but it's probably the best one. There's some good kills, gore and horror elements in this while maintaining a worthwhile story. I'd strongly recommend seeing this and would score it a solid 6.5-7/10.

Antlers fmovies. I'm getting a little sick of films that I have been looking forward to for a very long time, due to pandemic delays, finally arriving and being a let down. Unfortunately 'Antlers' has to be another one to add to that list. The film wasn't at all what I was hoping for.

I can't remember the last time I checked my watch this many times during a film. I kept wondering when the action was going to start. The film is only 99 minutes long, however about 80 of those are purely build up. And then the pay-off isn't much to write home about anyway. I'm all for patient horror, but you have to make it worth it for us.

A few good things need to be noted, for example the film looked very good. The CGI (the little of it we actually get to see at least) really was impressive. Also there is one jump-scare late in the film that I'm not ashamed to say got me very good. Also having Jesse Plemons in your film can never be a bad thing.

I guess I just felt this one didn't have anything unique to offer. You've seen one monster movie, then you've definitely seen everything this one has to offer. If you were considering choosing this as your 2021 Halloween film I would suggest perhaps looking elsewhere. 5/10.

I didn't expect this to be so disturbing, morbid, and so well filmed especially cinematography but it really is! Scott Cooper created a visionary folk story that is quite effective, I'm shocked of the 6.2 rating at least it's above average. Keri Russell is so nurturing/perfect for this I wouldn't want anyone else. I really like how there's a few jump scares and grotesque violence that's very rare; I hope that's not considered a spoiler I try not to. Antlers is amazing for what it is!

"Antlers" is a film as you watch you feel drama and suspense while being entertained in a thrilling like way. Set in rural Oregon it involves a strange and different little abused boy who tells of an ancient legend and curse of a creature who roams the woods(it had me thinking Sasquatch or Bigfoot since it was set in the Pacific Northwest). And it starts to affect him at school and his teacher starts to notice(played by Keri Russell from "Felicity" and the sexy green bra wearing girl from Bon Jovi's "Always" music video of 1994). Soon a local sheriff(Jesse Plemons) who's the school teacher's brother gets involved in the investigation and it leads to gore, blood, and mystery an old ancient like curse. I guess this film is okay for it's genre it did bring some fright and scary like feel. As it was a haunting chiller that revealed secrets.
