As a huge movie fan of all genres, I have to say well done to Eli Roth and the cast of The Green Inferno. The one thing about his movies.... you either love them or hate them. As for myself, I see what his vision is in his work and I enjoy his movies very much. The movie had a good story (great setup at the beginning for the near end) that had all the great gory cringing blood and violence you would expect it to have, and a great surprise twist at the end. I'm not sure the people that gave this movie a low rating really watched it. Definitely worth watching in my opinion.

Fmovies: Believe it or not I waited 2 years to see The Green Inferno in the theater I just haven't reviewed till now. Eli Roth's films are either hated or loved and I really like his work regardless of how out of whack they are! The cast is pretty good and the disturbing factors are great, I tend to be one of very few that loves this movie which is fun. I enjoyed the excitement I'd get from wanting to see a movie so bad, I want that again with something else.

This is a gross, disgusting, VILE movie. It's explicit, nasty, brutal, mean, dirty, violent, cruel, and yucky. And I mean that in a good way. Here's what I really love about though...it's SUBVERSIVE. One of the Sacred Rules of Moviemaking is that Indigenous Peoples MUST ALWAYS be Good and Nobly Oppressed. The Natives are always Wise, Peace-Loving, At-One-With-Nature, Kind, Generous, and Spiritual. While the Western White Capitalists are the Evil Tyrants who want to burn down the Beautiful Forest, kill the Noble Natives, and steal the Noble Natives' land. Anything else would be UNTHINKABLY RACIST. This movie though....THIS movie breaks the rules. It breaks the rules, spits on them, and curses their parentage. The Natives in THIS movie check none of the Required Politically Correct Boxes, and the American Activists do NOT become Beloved Heroes to the Natives, or Honorary Members of the Tribe...this isn't Dances With Wolves, or Pocahontas, or Avatar, or any of the countless other movies featuring Nobly Oppressed Natives battle Evil Industrial Capitalism with the Help of Enlightened "Woke" Activist-Types. This movie is MEAN, and it acknowledges that anyone can be horrible regardless of where they're from. This is great!

The Green Inferno fmovies. A movie inspired by the ultra-violent 70's Italian cannibal movies seems perfect for a director like Eli Roth. If you're not a fan of his films already, this won't win you over, but if you his brutal, tongue-in-cheek horror, The Green Inferno is a perfectly serviceable gore-fest. The Green Inferno follows Justine, a freshman in college who joins a student activist group that plans to save the Amazon rain forest. But these guys aren't just all talk: they are going to go directly to a village in Peru to rescue it from impending bulldozers before the village is destroyed, and their mission is successful. They rejoice on the plane ride back home, but their celebration is short lived as the plane crashes somewhere in the vast sea of green. Soon enough, they are taken hostage by a cannibalistic tribe and must escape before they are turned into someone's next meal. Like Roth's previous films, The Green Inferno takes its time before unleashing hell on the victims. The crew doesn't actually encounter the cannibal tribe until about 45 minutes into the plot, so when the violence comes, it really packs a punch. You'll definitely want to finish your popcorn early. Unfortunately, the movie doesn't have much of a plot after the group gets captured, so a lot of it is focused on the gruesome death scenes. I have to give credit where it's due, though. There are some really hard to watch scenes in this, and that's exactly what this movie wants. However, what makes The Green Inferno not just your average torture porn flick is how stylish it is and some darkly funny writing. The humor does sometimes get a little unnecessary at times, but there are many times where I had a laugh with the movie. Mainstream audiences won't appreciate how it homages classic cannibal flicks, but Eli Roth fans should be satisfied with a suitably nasty descent into hell.

The Green Inferno is a charming little flick, perfect for cozying up and enjoying with the family. Its structured with profound emotion rippling through our hearts as we cheer on a wonderful cast on an adventure into unknown plains. This movie is full of touching moments between broad characters with so much chemistry we cant help but fall in love with them. Its such a joy to see them interact with one another. There is as much stamina in this picture as there is passion. It captures you into its heavily spirited sentiment and never lets go. As the story progresses it only burrows deeper into your soul and leaves you in a state of peaceful wonderment. Don't put off watching this monumental cinematic eye opener any longer.

If Eli Roth is known for one thing, it's that he is known for high levels of violence in his films and pushing the envelope. And The Green Inferno is no exception, it's easily the most graphic movie of the year to receive a theatrical release. The movie features some extremely cringe-worthy scenes where the villages show no mercy to the young students. Of course, this is the focal point of the movie, the gore/torture of these somewhat arrogant, twenty somethings.

Yes, there is some social commentary in the movie, mostly poking fun at today's society and how everyone wants to 'appear' to be fighting for a cause when in fact, they are doing very little. And yes, he has a point here, but it isn't as thought provoking as he wants it to be, especially once the carnage starts and those ideas fly out the window. Only for those ideas to awkwardly return at the end of the movie.

There is not much to say about this movie other than the obvious, it's extremely violent, nothing more nothing less. The Green Inferno is obviously a homage to those 80s cannibalistic horror movies. Which means the body count is high and the foreigners are going to be punished by the natives in some of the most cruel ways imaginable (at least since the SAW series). But I can't help but feel a bit letdown after years of build up with the movie being stuck in release hell.

While The Green Inferno isn't on par with other strong horror contenders for best horror movie of 2015, it is easily the nastiest, most violent movie of the year. Thus, if the torture-porn genre is your cup of tea, then look no further, you've found your next fix!
