Lovewrecked (2005)

Well, before I watched this movie, I'll admit I didn't have very high hopes for this "feature presentation" just by looking at the cover. But, I will also admit that if you come into this movie not expecting much, then you will enjoy it much more than if you expect a Academy Award out of this flick. There's nothing really wrong with this movie, it's pretty much about these kids on a tropical island paradise with rock star "hunk": Jason Masters. Jenny Taylor (Amanda Bynes) and this other girl come up with many wild and ridiculous schemes to win over Jason Masters. The jokes in this movie along with what they say can be pretty stupid, but that's why its an entertaining movie, because you just laugh at how dumb it gets in some parts. This movie hits the pinnacle of dumbness when Jason Masters states very eloquently to Jenny that, "You rock me babe, you rock me two times around the world."....What???? Must I say more? Well, overall, if you and your buddies want to entertain yourselves, and have a few good laughs, I would recommend this movie to you. But, if you're looking for a work of art that will change your perspective on the world, this movie will never satisfy your needs.

Fmovies: I wouldn't say this movie changed my life or anything, but it was very cute and romantic. I also enjoyed seeing "Carlton" from the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. I think that this is the first time I've seen him in something other than that show. Amanda Bynes is absolutely adorable in this film. She is slowly becoming one of my favorite young actresses. Jamie-Lynn Sigler is great as well. This movie had a "Disney Channel" feel to it. I thought it was like something that you would see that would have the tag "Disney Channel Original movie." However, the movie was entertaining and I really did enjoy it. I would recommend it to anyone who was in the market for a sweet lighthearted film.

Not one redeeming feature. A vaguely appealing scenario that amounts to nothing at all.

No characters, just cardboard cutouts. No touching moments. No laughs at all — I was even in the mood to laugh, and still didn't laugh.

I'm embarrassed to review it, because reviewing it requires admitting that I watched it! Still not sure how I ended up even sitting through it, really. Stilted dialogue, limp gags and punchlines, contrived character interactions.

Truly, a movie doesn't get any more pointless. It might be uglier, or more offensive; it might be more incomprehensible, or more annoying ... but this film takes the prize for just being pointless.

Lovewrecked fmovies. Wow!!! What a GREAT location for a film! A nice cute story about a young girl who goes to the Caribbean for a summer job with a male friend who has feeling for her. When her favorite rock star shows up at the resort to rest up for a few days, she sets her sights on trying to meet him. The film is well shot and directed and the cast was great! I saw it at the Dominican Republic Film Festival and it was a wonderful film to end the festival. The film festival is hosted by the Sun Village Beach Resort and Spa which is the location for about 80% of the film. It really is a beautiful resort and a great spot for a vacation. Randal Klieser did a nice job with this film, and Amanda Bynes and the rest of the cast do a nice job as well.

Outstanding family entertainment!

This movie was shallow and very, very predictable. Even if it's been a very long time since I watched this movie, I'd forgotten most of the scenes, but I could already predict what the ending would be during the first 2 minutes of the movie! It was just so obvious. Watch the first two minutes, I dare you, and you'll know who Jenny's going to be ending up with.

Love Wrecked revolves around Jenny (Amanda Bynes) who is utterly in love with rockstar, Jason Masters. Her dreams are made when her idol checks in the resort that she works in. Thanks to some situations, she manages to get the both of them alone together, stranded in an island. The thing is, they're not really alone. Jenny found out that the "marooned island" that they're on, is actually connected to the resort! And mayhem occurs.

Seeing Amanda Bynes in this movie, reminded me of her in "She's the Man", "The Amanda Show" and "What a Girl wants". If you think about it, her character is all the same. A goofy teenager who does weird faces. Sort of like Jim Carrey, only younger and not as good. I'm just saying here. I don't know if that means she's a good actress or if she's just good in acting like a "goofy teenager".

I did have a few laughs. I liked the competition that Jenny and Alexis had. Aaand, that's about it. Maybe my rating was too harsh, but that's the truth. Not the best film out there. Very predictable. There's not much of a storyline here. But hey, if you just want to have a quick fun flick, this movie could be it.

I saw it at the 1st Annual Dominican Republic Int'l Film Festival at the Sun Village Resort in Puerto Plata (as already stated, this is the location where it was filmed). I thought it was pretty good. The version they showed us was still in a rough cut stage.

It is most definitely a movie for fans of Amanda. I'm not a big fan but I like her acting style and her "cuteness factor." I would recommend the movie to anyone looking for a light hearted youthful sort of teeny-Hopper movie.

As for the filming location, I would recommend Sun Village to anyone looking for a great Caribbean Vacation. :) Best, Dan
