Citizen Toxie: The Toxic Avenger IV (2000)

Citizen Toxie demands respect. It demands respect because Feldman's emotionally compelling performance sweeps you into Toxie's topsy-turvy (and delightfully dark) world, and it doesn't let up until the credits roll. Citizen Toxie delivers primarily because of Feldman's mastery, in the spirit of what Keat's called the objective correlative, of his character's every facet and nuance. Feldman's control and deliberate persistence not only excite, they electrify, not unlike a bloated and beached prehistoric eel. Further, it is by far Feldman's most whimsical performance since the Goonies.

Fmovies: Wow, this movie kicks ass! I never thought they would make a sequel as good as the original, but they did! If you are in the mood to get grossed out, why not try a double feature of this and Terror Firmer?(Troma would probably appreciate the money.)You can tell if you're going to be offended or not by this movie at the very beginning,with the retarted kids school participating in take a Mexican to lunch day, and then continually making fun of retarted kids. Now, I myself could care less, but other people might not. But anyway, about 3 minutes after the movie starts, the diaper mafia shows up to kill all the retarted kids, and then things really get going. after about ten minutes, the Toxic Avenger finally shows up.One of the diaper mafia guys is so scared, he s**ts himself,then Toxie rips off the diaper and suffocates him with it. It just gets better from there. This is definetly of of the best movies of the year and one of Troma's best.(And that's saying a lot, considering the huge Troma fan I am.) I recommend this movie to anyone who doesn't get grossed out easily.

I can see how some people may not like this film due to the fact Troma Movies are an acquired taste. With that said, Citizen Toxie is one of the best independant films I have seen to date. It's a classic horror comedy with a superhero twist. Nudity, gore, and violence. Whats not to like? In my opinion, director Llyod Kaufman gave fans of the series what they had wanted for years. After Toxie II and III (which were suppose to be one movie but due to its length was made into two) this movie is a welcome return to what made the first Toxic Avenger an instant cult classic.

Citizen Toxie: The Toxic Avenger IV fmovies. This is the best Troma film I've seen, and I've seen mostly all of them. Love it or Hate it, you must see this movie. It works on so many disgusting levels- violence, sex, and just pure disgustingness... and some great cameos abound. Can't wait to see more of the Retard Rebel

Citizen Toxie is, without a doubt, the finest Troma film to date. Lloyd Kaufman and the Troma team managed to make a sequel to a twenty year old movie that is not only more succesful than the original, but has a lesser budget to boot. The Toxic Avenger has never looked better on screen, the acting, while often intentionally corny, fits the movie perfectly, and the script is comedic genius. Now, to see all this, it is imperative to not be off put by the gallons of gore, extreme sexuality, and the lengths at which the makers go out of their way to be politically incorrect.

Which brings us to a very controversial subject. Many people have bashed this movie, aside from given remarks such as "idiotic", "lowbrow", and "tasteless". Many people claim this film to be racist, and they are serious when they say this. To see someone brand this offensive, but harmless, piece of art racist truly makes me sad. If anybody took the time to learn anything about the production of this movie, or the people involved making it, such claims would never be vocalized or even thought. The scene in question involves an african-american gentlemen being dragged behind a pickup truck, and is also based upon an actual event. The villain of the picture is the one commiting this act against humanity, as villains in most movies do. Who saves him? Toxie, the hero of the film who fights crime, and is eternally trying to end violence.

Citizen Toxie: The Toxic Avenger 4 is a landmark in independant films. Anyone who takes movies too seriously may not get it though, so it is advised to know what you're getting into: This film is crude, revolting, offensive, politcally incorrect, violent, and nothing short of amazing. However, that last one would not apply if the first Toxic Avenger, another minor masterpiece, did not exist. If none of the above descriptions bother you, rent (or better yet, BUY), the original Toxic Avenger and Citizen Toxie. You'll have a great time, guaranteed.

Thats not saying much, since I havent seen part 3, but man, this movie is awesome. From the opening where they apologize for the horrible part 2&3, to the ending where Toxie gets p***ed at Sgt. Kabukiman NYPD(I wont say why, youll have to see the movie).

The gist of it is: While saving the Tromaville school for the very special, Toxie accidently gets sent to Amortville(the exact opposite of Tromaville), and Noxie(Toxies oppisote) gets sent to Tromaville. Thats just the tip of the iceberg as many many more things happen, including a cameo by the original Melvin Mark Torgl.

Now onto my review. This movie is awesome, Terror Firmer was kick ass, but this movie is funnier in every area then Terror Firmer was(though Terror Firmer was grosser). One of the things you can always count on Troma to do is to have social messages hidden in there films(yes its true, they do). From Abortion to violence in the media, this movie has a lot of hidden social messages. David Mattey does very good as both Toxie and his evil doppleganger Noxie, I hope he's asked back for Toxie part 5(if there is one, heres hoping), this movie is also filled with many spoofs of recent movies as well as real life situations. From Star Wars Episode 1, to the Matrix, and covering real life. The Columbine massacre and the dragging of the black man in Texas(those latter two instances may offend a few). Of course a Troma film is't complete without lots and lots of gore and Citizen Toxie does not disapoint either, although the copy I was watching is not quite finished so the sound was not quite up to par, but that will be fixed once it comes out. Also that really kickass Toxic Avenger song from the trailer was absent from the film so I hope that gets put in as well. Also Corey Feldman does appear in a rather humorous scene as Sarah's personal Doctor.
