I watched this Polish thriller today without reading any reviews or having any expectations... and I loved it!

The overall atmosphere is Parasite meets Nightcrawler (but the plot is quite different), with a pretty scary take on how misinformation is spread online and just how much influence social media has on politics. It is also very much about the division between social classes and the desire to belong. Far-right wing politics (very much alive and well in Poland and its neighboring countries) is seen more as a means to an end.

The acting, script and cinematography were brilliant. If you are into anti-hero sagas or just want to watch a good thriller, I recommend this movie.

Fmovies: What a disturbing and real movie...masterpiece; if you're accustomed to the usual Hollywood thrillers/villains then don't watch it; if you're spoonfed with no brain Hollywood type thrillers then don't watch it; if you're expecting car chasing fill with guns and explosions then don't watch it; if you're expecting a Rambo type of film (think some of the raters expected something like it...) then don't watch it....but in the other hand if you're expecting an intelligent, cerebral, slow paced with fantastic performances and political/racism current themes without being preacher, then watch it !! This is the type of movies that would make you feel "uncomfortable" so don't expect to come out feeling heart-lightened and optimistic...on the contrary !!! As we say here in Mexico..."Hey that Hannibal Lecter dude is a real mean SOB..." Tomasz would tell you rolling his sleeves..."hold my Tecate cabron..." (Tecate is a famous beer in Mexico...)

Just finished watching this and am now determined to see everything by Jan Komasa. Netflix have found a finely cut gem, far better than their normal offerings.

This will be brief; The protagonist is a cool, calculating, utterly ruthless psychopath, but not at first. He grows into the role with a disturbingly natural ease that pulls you in. Tomasz (Maciej Musialowski) is totally convincing and dare I say far more plausible than Christian Bale's American Psychopath? There, I've said it.

He is everything that is wrong with the world, and yet by the end of a thrilling film we're left in no doubt that he has a bright future ahead of him. Politics maybe? He'd certainly get elected, no matter what it took.

The writer, Mateusz Pacewicz, must be playing with the idea of a sequel? I wouldn't begrudge him the effort. Maybe a social media campaign to nudge him in the right direction is in order?

The 2+ hours flew by, helped by a mainly classical score that kind of underwrites Warsaw's long, proud and sometimes violent history. Nothing seemed out of place. It's definitely the kind of film I can watch a few times, and I'm very fussy.

Don't watch this with Grandma, but do watch it, highly recommended.

The Hater fmovies. The Hater - A- (Almost Perfect)

An important movie, which exams Scio/Psychopathic behaviour in youth along with sides effects of social media presence in backdrops of political unrest in the world. This seems a lot to handle in one film, but Jan Komasa masterfully handled these subject matters. The film never felt overburden by the issues it tries to examine.

Maciej Musialowski has given a star making performance as Tomasz. For viewers to understand his motives and even to sympathise due to pressures on youth in today's climate is an astounding feat of its own. The cast across the board is fantastic and as it was released on Netflix in Australia and I went in without knowing anything or watching any promos I was at an absolute awe of the movie.

This should shed light on our own behaviour of Hate we give through commenting and arguing with strangers online, and Hate we Receive for sharing our thoughts on issues important to us. Highly Recommended.

A film with intelligence, remarkably devoid of simplification in its social and political portrayal of our cold, ruthless world of postmodern haves and have-nots. The distant but all the more biting satire (or is that the right word?) of Poland's new urban bourgeoisie is very effective. Also one of the few recent films able to capture young people's permanent online emotional handicap.

After Oscar nominated Corpus Christi, we receive continuation of Suicide room. I called that movie body ,,Polish Parasite''. The screenplay is original, leading actor is great, Agata Kulesza, as always delivers another remarkable performance. The subject of hate on the Internet and amongst people is very current/matches our crazy times of Internet addiction. Highly recommended.
