Tanu Weds Manu Returns is a 2015 Indian rom-com directed by Anand L. Rai and is the sequel to the 2011 film Tanu Weds Manu, also directed by Rai. Written by Himanshu Sharma, Tanu Weds Manu Returns stars Kangana Ranaut, R. Madhavan, Jimmy Shergill, and Deepak Dobriyal in the pivotal roles. The movie is set four years after the dramatic turn of events of Tanu Weds Manu wherein the seemingly incompatible duo of Manu and Tanu had managed to get hitched, overcoming all odds. Manu and Tanu now find themselves on the brink of separation. As with all things life, the passion has subsided and it's replaced by monotony and solitude. Their marriage seems more like a burden and a formality than a symbol of mutual love and respect. Their decisions are no longer driven by love but by their own egos. And yet, whether they want to believe it or not, all is not lost. And, so, they must both suffer, for although life is a great teacher, alas, it teaches the things the hard way. As a scrutiny of the institution of marriage, Tanu Weds Manu Returns reminds this critic of Krzysztof Kieslowski's Three Colors: White (1994) and Kangana Ranaut's performance of a seemingly selfish, inconsiderate wife of Julie Delpy's turn in the very film.

Tanu Weds Manu Returns is the kind of cinema that the Indian masses crave for. It's a formula that just cannot fail in a diverse and colorful country like India. Indians love to celebrate. The dozen or two festivals are just not enough. Festivities are an innate part of our lives. And marriage functions are the grandest of them all. For us, marriage is just not a union of two individuals but it's an alliance of two families. It's an occasion that gets everyone excitedâ€"be it the children, the young, or the oldâ€"for it is perceived as the greatest celebration of life. In short, the marriages are a singularly viable business. For Bollywood, it's a bankable subject like no other. Some of the biggest commercial hits in the history of Hindi cinema revolved around the theme of marriage. Films such as Hum Aapke Hain Koun...! (1994) and Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995) exploited the Indian sentimentality for the traditions and rituals associated with marriage particularly well. While Tanu Weds Manu was a testament to the efficacy of very fabric of marriage in binding us together, Tanu Weds Manu Returns is a gentle reminder of its fallibility.

Tanu Weds Manu Returns is a non-stop entertainer from start to finish, but, in order to fully enjoy the film, one needs to be credulous enough to believe anything and everything that's on offer. In other words, the viewer must be willing to suspend the disbelief concerning the implausibility of the narrative. Once the viewer makes this compromise, Tanu Weds Manu Returns will prove to be a roller-coaster of a ride. The film certainly shows us the dark side of marriage but it does so without appearing too grim. Marriage is like any other partnership but sometimes the patriarchal mindset can make the male partner behave in a rather chauvinistic manner. Now, that's fine as long as the fairer sex is willing to bend but the modern Indian woman can be every bit as feministic in her ways—it will certainly set the two of them on a collision path. In Tanu Weds Manu Returns, we witness how a free-spirited girl and her pragmatic husband fail to meet each other's expectations. How a lack of mutual understanding and respect takes them on the brink of divorce. How young couples forget that a marriage is never "all take and n

Fmovies: Tanu Weds Manu: Returns is set 4 years after the marriage of Tanu and Manu and they don't seem to be satisfied at all. Manu is put into insane asylum after a tense marriage counseling which actually insane. Then Manu comes back to her home in India and just fools around with random men. Tanu is completely dis-likable in this film and her behavior is completely incoherent which is one of the main reason I don't like this film much and the ending as well which badly hated. The humor is witty and clever but the story is absolute nonsense and ridiculous drama which meanders for two hours. Ranaut also plays a Haraynvi athlete Kusum in a double role whose character is much more likable and is the saving grace of the film. Tanu Weds Manu: Returns is funny at times but that's all it has got. The story is insane, characters are obnoxious and the ending very poor.

RATING: [2/5]

Tanu Weds Manu Returns fmovies. Well this is my first ever IMDb review, so it may not offer you the flavor you would like to read, but still I will try my best.

First of all this is the film anyone can watch with his/her family. The storyline has much of twist to hold you on the chair for long time (Yeah, its a long movie). Perhaps you will be confused as I was to see Kusum, who was seen as a doppelganger of Tanu in the movie, her Haryani accent and acting was something we couldn't expect from Kangana.

I must say Kangana Ranaut is probably one of the most remarkably talented actress in the bollywood film industry and she has showed again after "Queen". R. Madhavan was also composed and played husband role quite well. Deepak Dobriyal (Pappi) was outstanding!! his hilarious act also offers you enough laugh. Jimmy Shergill has done his job perfectly yet again. Finally its a complete Paissa Wassool movie.

Director Mr. Anand L. Rai possesses very good flair for romantic comedy. His work is simply fantastic. He never let anyone go overboard. Approach towards scenes is very novel. Writer Himanshu Sharma has delivered again an entertaining film with balance dose of emotions. He has an ascending graph in his career. Usually its very difficult to carry a sequel but he has done with ease and with complete justification to its first part. Actually, it is ahead of its predecessor. Story line crosses beautifully with the first part. Good example of it is its interval, which clearly shows that it is integral part of its first one. Interval is humorous with drama. Screenplay holds your interest aptly. Dialogues are real and hard core entertaining. Even opening credits promise you that you are going to be entertained and film succeeds in it in balanced way. This film proves that if Director, writer and actors have clear cut understanding of characters then entertainment has to be there. This film pops up some messages too, which are soft but make you to think, i.e about women empowerment in Datto (Kusum) family. Climax is little stretched but again its entertain you and make you emotional too. This film is supported by very good performance. Hats off to Kangana Ranaut. She deserves standing ovation. You have to remind yourself that she is portraying two characters otherwise soon she will take you under her spell of performance that you have to forget that actually there is a single actor, performing double role. She is terrific. Again brilliant performance by Deepak Dobrial as Puppy. His expressions are just amazing. You have to laugh with just his body language and expressions. He is excellent. R. Madhvan is very good. Mohammed Zeeshan Ayub as Lawyer Chintu is impressive. Swara Bhaskar as Payal is fine. Rajesh Sharma is very good. Jimmy Shergill is good. Music is peppy and supports the film well. Even Background score is very good.

Movie starts off with hilarious dialogs. Till the intermission, you just can't stop laughing, all thanks to Kangana's superb acting and Deepak's unbelievable comic timing.

It's not like any other movie sequels where they change the personality and behaviour of the character just to create more fun.

Music of the film is outstanding. You just can't stop repeating the song in your mind once you listen to it. #bano-tera-swagger

On post-movie thoughts, logic for climax seems to be off the track. But awesome performances by all the actors especially Kangana and Deepak makes you forget any illogical things in the movie. Yet again Kangana will surely be getting her National Award again.

If this movie can't win the best film award then surely awards are paid rather than earned by the Khans.

Just stop reading any more reviews and go to theaters to watch and enjoy or later regret for not watching the best movie of 2015.
