Not Cool (2014)

First off, I am a huge fan of Shane Dawson. I had high hopes for this movie.. But this movie was bad. Am I going to elaborate? No. It is easy to say it was maybe the worst movie I have ever seen. Did Shane probably work hard on it and want it to do well? Yes. But it failed. Also the girl who played Tori(Cherami Leigh) is a terrible actor. Shane and Drew did fine and so did the others actors but this lady just stuck out. This movie had no goal or purpose really. It was actually vulgar without any reason. No comical purpose or emotional appeal. Smiley was a pretty good film. This is not. Sorry Shane but try again. Shane's YouTube skits are better than this. I am sad for Shane to even be associated with this. It's a shame.

Fmovies: Shane has a great presence, witty comical mind, hilarious over the top youtube characters, and can relate to all kinds of audience because of his past with obesity and dealing with bullying and depression and his current life as a pretty handsome youtube star. What always captivated me trough his skits is the fact that he makes stupid jokes and fart humor but always with a cute and meaningful thought behind it, and it conveys perfectly in short 5 minutes videos, however , the problem here is that shane isn't 16 anymore, and doesn't fit in any way the role he tries to convey, He also doesn't have the look for being the popular kid which makes it very awkward to watch, not only that, but his humor over a long time span reveals to be very bland and reveals his lack of acting chops .as the viewer is looking for something more to grab onto, so the over the top characters and very many stereotyping just piles on top of each other and makes it kind of very hard to watch over the hour and a half it takes to get trough this movie. I think shane should rely on his strenght of portraying real life struggle rather than laugh at it with no real intention behind it, for he has a good eye for it.

So this movie is all about the generic slap-stick comedy and the potty humor. The humor would appeal to 13-15 year old boys.

The storyline is something everyone's seen at some point or another. The actors are mostly believable. The worst actor was actually Dawson himself, his interactions with other characters in the movie seemed forced and obviously scripted.

This movie would be a great movie for young teenage boys, but the movie is rated R, so who exactly is the target audience here?

Not Cool fmovies. I really wanted to support someone from the YouTube community that made it to the big screen and I was looking forward to see this film.

Sadly the movie was unfunny and poorly written. The jokes were mostly puke/poop/fart ones, repetitive, forced and badly executed. The movie consisted only of sappy sitcom scenes and the previously mentioned doubtful humor.

And what's with all the sex, rape, dicks, boobs and stereotypes? I don't mind using any of this in comedy, because in comedy we should learn how to laugh at everything. But that wasn't making a joke about it, it was putting it there as the joke. Like when you make a scene with dick sucking through a glory hole and the girl on the other side being loud and obnoxious it doesn't make it a "joke". It's just a loud dick sucking scene. It's unnecessary, cheap and targeted for retarded people. HO HO HO dick, toilet, sucking, screaming...that's funny!

Hope he'll make something better next time.

I was expecting to like this movie going in because I happen to think that Shane Dawson has some talent as a comedian. My opinion has severely dropped after this movie.

Let me start with the comedy. Most of the dialogue is either cringey or uninspired and the jokes that are supposed to make me laugh because they are gross and random don't work because there is no sense of comedic timing or pacing for each joke. Each joke comes out awkward and forced and most comedies have jokes that tie in to the story but a lot of these jokes are not incorporated very well.

The plot is very weak and cliché in a lot of places. The two main leads have to have a fight to propel the third act and you know they are going to end up together somehow because "true love". The screenplay does nothing to help me connect with any of the characters on the screen and most of the characters are deplorable souless beings. We could've at least gotten some funny jokes with the characters from Shane's youtube channel but he decides that these boring and cookie cutter characters are enough to propel the story.

The acting is awful but I can feel that Shane is trying in some places but most of the actors need to take some acting lessons.

This movie had a horrible sense of pace and the direction is equally awful. The music is some of the most shitty teen melodramatic music I've heard.

I am sad that most people who gave this movie a 10/10 probably gave it just because it was Shane Dawson.

Shane, I don't hate you but please never do a movie ever again

Ugh. I wanted this movie to be good. I always want Youtube movies to be good, because I know how hard some people work to do so. I suppose I should begin saying that I am not a fan of Shane Dawson, I can see the appeal (he sure is a looker)but is he funny? Let's get back to the movie. It's awful. I saw this after Hollidaysburg and this one was blown out of the water, hell it wasn't even in the water in the morning. Where the casting and characters of Hollidaysburg worked because of the chemistry and depth the actors were able to bring to the roles. And while it had pacing issues, Not Cool has no pacing. It starts, it ends, I feel dirty for watching it, I get a shower(x9). It doesn't help either that the characters and actors were awful. OK I should amend that. The girl playing Tori is OK and by far the best actor in the movie. Hollidaysburg, while unfunny at times, knew where to draw the line. Something Shane Dawson has never known. And I'm not opposed to shock humor, but goddam! IT has to be funny! Just because you can have a script that says (Mock minority to a theater of laughing fools) doesn't mean you can make a movie. Never since Transformers 3 have I felt like the smartest person in a room. This movie never shuts up either. It's having a moment-oh sorry we have to make fun of gay people again! Don't see this movie, it will only encourage the people who made this.
