No Man of God (2021)

Luke Kirby is absolutely brilliant as serial killer Ted Bundy in this film. The lengths he must have studied Bundy to be able to mimic his body language is remarkable.

If you are looking for representation of his horrific crimes, then this movie is not for you. It does not have flash backs of his Bundy's victims. This is about the last few months of Bundy's life and his discussions with Hagmaier across a desk which leads up to his execution and the show that it bought a long with it by the public outside the prison calling for his blood.

Next to the movie Ted Bundy from 2002, No Man of God definitely comes in as my second favourite film about Ted Bundy.

When Ted asks Hagmaier if he knows why he did what he did yet, and Hagmaier replies with "Because you wanted too" this statement sums up Ted Bundy perfectly.

I felt different after watching this movie. It fully pulled me in and affected me on such a deep level that by the time it was over, I had to remind myself that I lived in my world, not the world the movie presented me with.

And yet, this really happened...

I feel the editing and acting were extremely effective, Elijah Wood never fails to deliver such profound performances. When the first movie started and we got a good long look at his eyes, I saw Frodo.

By the end of the movie, I realize that Elijah has perfectly become Bill Haegmeir (sorry for the spelling if it's incorrect), so much so that any "Hey, look! It's Frodo!" had disappeared so entirely I couldn't even place where it'd happened.

For anyone who thinks this kind of movie glorifies serial killers, I would say I can't see how. Nothing in this movie makes Ted Bundy seem like a good guy, he seems like a killer, through and through.

I don't know the name of the actor who played Bundy, but he did a great job portraying someone deeply troubled, sick, manipulative, complex, and deadly.

Anyway, I highly recommend this movie to anyone who enjoys a good drama, it's well acted, edited, directed, and left me feeling out of place in my own world for a bit, after.

This, in my books, is a pretty good sign that the movie effectively transported me to a life other than my own.

1st 35 mins are good then it falls away plus jumps in terms of the time line too. It could have been alot better but it just went from one scene to another without much development.

Acting was good but Wood is not so convincing. Luke plays the role very well.

No Man of God fmovies. I was expecting more creepy stories of how he approached the victims unfortunately there was only one in verbal mode.

It's just so refreshing finally getting a good movie, based on good actors and great performances. No stupid CGI or lame overkill action-scenes.

I've been hungry for a good movie for a while now. I just opened my bag of chips, a big chocolate and a beer, while the wind was screaming in the night, outside of my window. What a treat!

If you just want to see a good movie, love serial killer stuff and want a different point of view on this story/case, then this is for you!

Just watch it! 8/10.

I didn't watch any of the early films on Ted Bundy; so I can't tell if this movie has anything further to offer or not! But I can definitely tell that this Amber Sealey directorial is a serious & authentic take on the famous serial killing case by Bundy.

To be precise, this movie is hardly about Bundy's charismatic crimes or the trial process; actually it's about his unusual relationship with FBI Special Agent Bill Hagmaier in his final days before execution. I find this perspective of storytelling convincing enough to try once & I can say that this is a decent work.

A solid two men performance from Elijah Wood and Luke Kirby, an eerie score & an engaging enough screenplay made No Man of God a gripping watch. The movie didn't require many gruesome crime flashbacks as some dialogues were so well written & powerful that it gave a more prominent visual. I found some moments exceptional; especially that tv interview scene & when we can see the amalgamation between Ted & Hagmaier's character. Overall No Man of God deserves your attention for some real good reasons.
