Miss Fisher and the Crypt of Tears (2020)

This was a cliched mess of bad dialogue and odd CGI

Fmovies: I had no expectations, as I have not seen the TV series. The plot was improbable, as were many of Miss Fisher's antics. Was she supposed to be a female version of Indiana Jones? It missed the mark for me. For all of her running around, riding, climbing & costume changes, she never had a hair out of place! And because of this I couldn't help staring at her hair throughout the film. And she had a change of wardrobe in every scene. Most of the ensemble cast didn't have enough to do & contributed little to the storyline. There was no suspense & I guessed who the baddies were. I suppose if you are a fan of the series, you might enjoy it if you are happy to suspend belief & are not fussy about overcomplicated storylines. Overall I found this film disappointing. I won't be in any rush to watch the TV series!

We got comp tickets, were looking forward to some simple, family escapism, and (I guess) that's what we got.

But seriously, I cannot think of one thing that was done in this movie that was done well. It is ridiculously bad. Terrible.

I have watched The Room three times, the second and third time because it is just So Bad it really stands out. This one doesn't even do that.

I'd really like to add something constructive - check out my other reviews and you'll see I'm usually complimentary, and if I watch a merely reasonable movie I refrain from commenting - but this was exceptional.

It wasn't a complete waste of time, because it's something I can look back on with a combination of amusement and horror.

Miss Fisher and the Crypt of Tears fmovies. This film was appalling. It's unsurprising that it needed crowd-funding to be made. The script, character development and plot was unacceptable, and the "twist" at the end was both far-fetched and unsurprising. Don't waste your money going to see this.

Toy trains and toy planes.

I absolutely loved the TV series, but this was awful in so many ways.

Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries was one of my all time favorite series so I was so excited that the movie had been released. The movie just does not live up to the series - at all! The supporting cast of Dot, Hugh and Mr. Butler and Jane added so much to the series and were MIA from the movie - except for a brief scene in the beginning. The movie felt like it was trying to hard to be an "Indiana Jones" sequel and it missed by a mile. Please set the next one in London (as Essie doesn't wish to be away from her children) or even go back to Melbourne with the magic that studios can do.
