Hideout (2021)

It held me to the end and that's more than I can say for a lot of horror pics these days. Sure, the plot is familiar, I've watched a couple over the years with almost exactly the same setup, but the actors give it their all, the direction is crisp and efficient and on the whole it's an enjoyable watch. In short, to paraphrase Pope, 'May this put money in your purse For I assure you I've seen worse'.

Fmovies: The acting was not the worst! The practical effects, when shown, are very good (but very far and very in-between). How filmmakers can watch, rewatch and still think that at 1 hour 50 minutes, their film does not need any editing is beyond me. Top directors will keep it to 90 minutes. This badly needs 30/40 removing, then it may be watchable. The ending is just the usual ending of 90% of horrors.

Considering this is a low budget movie, the effects, make up and even the production seemed good. A minor let down was some acting in parts, otherwise this one is actually not a bad watch at all. Story can be slightly predictable ,if you've watched tonnes of movies like this but I still wasn't bored through the entire duration. Could've been trimmed in length,but try to see this and appreciate the effort. Hope the director gets to make more such movies with a good budget in the future.

Hideout fmovies. Considering this was done in only 11 days with a indie budget they did great. The film is basically about four criminals who discover the family living at the farmhouse isn't who they appear to be. You could cut the tension with a knife. Right from the start we got introduced slowly to all the characters and things really take of from there. This is for sure one of the better indie made thrillers out there. I'm giving this a 6.

Some really poor acting in this one .Started off pretty much ok .Then it starts to get ridiculous and tedious .Will keep you hooked ,only to see the outcome .Not because you are watching a classic .

So, after a botched robbery, a gang find shelter and medical aid at an unassuming home. Not all is as it seems in the quaint home.

As I said I've seen better and I've seen far worse. I give this 3.5 stars.

The story is a little different but it takes too long for it to get to the point. There were some aspects of the story that just didn't have to be part of the film. The acting is cringy at best and the dialogue could use work.

The best part of the film, in my opinion, was the effort to create decent horror scenes. Not all of them were winners mind you, but someone really put their heart into this aspect of the film and I'm gonna give them credit for it.

It's not something I'll watch again but I can recommend it for indy film enthusiasts. It was clearly a passion project. However, if you are a lightweight and have no tolerance for imperfection, you should probably skip it.
